What kind of smell you getting from your mango thai? Sorry if i missed this somewhere but did you veg at all or go straight to 12/12? I have 4 sexing right now. 3 are pretty similar in looks and smell and one is a completely oddball. Super lanky, holds a lot darker green and is straight pine no mango. Stem rub reminds me of shop class lol. The other 3 are a beautiful sharp mango. I have 5 of their release of Afropipis Malawi gold going too. I plan on making some mango thai x malawi gold seeds

I think I vegged her for a bit more than 6 weeks iirc, and in veg both girls had very fruity scents to them. Then in flower not much, but it's been in there a while now, since February 7th. Lately the frostiness has begun really showing. There's certainly a fruit scent to er, and unripe mango. This pheno has the dark bracts he describes on TRSC website as
"The richer, more tobacco-scented forms typically have darker-coloured bracts, a trait that’s enhanced on curing."

Plus I have a nice number of seeds from this girl now. Would be amazing to be able to replicate the climate and then do search and select.
Go for it dude with that cross, the world needs more greasy beast-ass sativas - I would love to see how that turns out.

That plant was looking great and way more under control than I would've expected for that long a veg! Im probably going to root clones maybe let them go a few weeks then flip them. I want them to stay nice and reasonable. I plan to keep all 4 around unless i see some bad intersex traits on any. My biggest issue im having right now is wanting to crack the other pack and a half i have so i can do a more proper seed run. I just cant do it for the time being. Not while sexing the malawi gold and some plushberry. I bought 5 different strains from the real seed company with the intentions of mixing them amd keeping them pure. I got the Mango Thai, Malawi Gold, Congolese, Sudanese and Kerala. The Ukhrul might get thrown into the mix too. I have a buddy that has some Highland Lao #2 hes going through. Cant really say how far I'll actually make it into my mega sativa cross, but i know there will be some pollen getting chucked around these parts for sure. If i do mix any of them with more modern hybrids it'll mostly be Bodhi or Kindgdom Organic Seeds and probably Capulator.

That Mango Thai is great for anyone growing it now. I have a few beans left of it. Smoked all the buds, hehe.
I just got the Manipur, Highland Lao 2 and Lao Gold. Angus said the last two are close to Thai stick, but I doubt he was smoking in the 70's, so???
The Manipur from ILE is the SHIT!!!!! I love it and will compare to the RSC version. I think they are close or just the same. All in the head and the head is doing fine with this strain. A pure sativa and quite potent unlike many out there. Effect is positive as hell. Clear effect yet enough going on to be interesting.

yeah I didn't grow her out long enough. I think if I had dragged it out longer it would have filled out more, as it it dried and cured to fairly light thin bud, yet smoke is decent. It's almost a little bit more like smoking a cigarette I find, with a nice high. I have a lot but I cured it wrong, it doesn't smell that great. Maybe takes a long time to cure.

Mango Thai, mango candy smells. Slow start but she stacks!
Mango Thai, smells like sawdust, really woody. Way faster flowering than her sister.

Clones of both females directly planted into 7gal and put straight into 11/13. The woody pheno was done stretching around week 3, the mango one is just getting started.

The Manipur/Burma line. My Cambodian and Burma from ILE failed to germinate. I have them in dirt now but it has been 3 weeks. I do not expect them to sprout. This is the second pack of Cambodian from ILE that has failed to sprout. I am done with that company for now. I did order 2 packs of Manipur from ILE as those were viable last time.

Have not had room to work with the Sinai but they are on my mind. Only sativa for now but one day. Have some Kashmir from ILE that is interesting. Wild stuff, Lolab Valley is the name. 30 seeds to a pack. Low germination rates. They did not warn of germination problems with the Cambodian and Burma. Like I said, having multiple packs fail to germinate is not ok with me. Great on the Manipur but the RSC could be the same Manipur so.... I have had no luck contacting ILE.
To be fair I have had a lot of RSC packs fail to germinate or have one runty plant out of a pack. I have RSC Manipur from the old pack germinating. Two seem to have sprouts but they look like they will fail to grow much if planted. I had that happen the last time and threw the tiny plant out, it was Manipur. Angus sent me seeds after I complained on it, the Mango Thai among them. Lots of these landrace seeds are not very strong it seems. Angus gives out free seeds when he hears of poor germination rates.

The germination issues don't really have anything to do with landrace seeds being "weak", more like, RSC collects these seeds at the source and they might not even be from the current season. Some are years old, and they're pretty honest about germ rates. Also, the local farmers who collect these don't store them in refrigerators, they are probably just in burlap sacks out in a shed. I've had good luck germing older seeds by soaking in a diluted h202 solution to scarify them, then into a fulvic/seaweed solution to jump start them-6 hours in each only. There are a lot of studies out there on h202, fulvic, kelp extract, and chitosan and how/why they increase germ rates. Supporting RSC and propagating these plants is a great thing to do!

I’ve had seeds I popped this year from 07-08 when I ordered them so I have no ideas how old they were when I got them. They seem a little more picky about the temp you pop them at and I Had a few duds and lost a few from popping when too cold

Tend to prefer in soil vs towels too for alot of these kinds of varieties germ wise i find too my go to is usually into wet paper towels always has been but i found better results in the dirt when it comes to these kinds of more traditional type strains its more what there used to so stands to reason it be so

I agree I ditched the towel method because I lost a lot to rot
