Similar results here too, About 10 years ago an old guy who knew his shit was appalled when I told him I was flushing my current grow cycle. He asked why I did it and what my thoughts were and of course it was bro science bullshit I had heard and believed to be true, But being open minded enough to humor him I was intrigued .
He asked me to try and experiment and told me to just keep my nutrients in my res up till harvest on the next one, but pay close attention to my temps and humidity while drying and curing , And to also keep records of my weights for the current and next harvests.
The unflushed harvest was about 25% more in terms of weight and by far the best smoke I had produced up to that time, The genetics were all from the same mother and the rooms dynamics didn't change . I was sold right then and there.
I still get a chuckle or two when I let new people try my cannabis and occasionally hear " wow man , how long do you flush for"? I dont flush, I feed 1200 ppm right up to the day I harvest..... Minds get blown
My thoughts on it are that you are depriving the plant during the time it needs the nutrients the most, Like not eating for 3 days before running a marathon..... yes you could do it, But you aren't going to be running your best time on an empty tank. You are starving the plant during the time it is most geared towards bulking up and producing cannabinoids.
The way you dry and cure your cannabis has the most effect on your harvest and improperly processing any part can ruin great cannabis.
I've not had one person who I convinced to try it ever go back to "flushing" Try it and you be the judge....
