Western fighters are probably a sign that the allies think the Russians are worn down enough and have their vast hoard of soviet arms depleted enough to end this Russian fiasco. Fighters are bombers too and they could toss one of those GPS glide bombs or a cruise missile a long way, perhaps far enough to cut Russian rail bridges. That would end the war with a Russian defeat or withdrawal from Ukraine, getting their asses kicked all the way to the curb/border and perhaps beyond as they scramble to get out of 155mm range while inside Russia.

Why have European allies become so enthusiastic in their support of Ukraine, cleaning out the cupboard in some cases? Maybe Joe gave them a plan that will eliminate, not just reduce the Russian threat. It's based on a rather simple theory, if you beat them up badly enough and break their legs, it will be a while before they come back, and they might think twice about it! Breaking and depleting their military and economy is the only long-term security Ukraine or western Europe has, it will have to be cold and hot war until they wise up. I doubt China will back a loser when we do 10 or 20X times the trade with them and they live on trade, the western and increasingly eastern allies are their biggest trading partners.
Joe is playing the game expertly and it certainly shows with Russia on the ropes and America with more enthusiastic European allies than in WW2 FFS. China is being ringed in, alliances with their neighbors being made and vital industries are coming home, unemployment is also at WW2 levels! I think Joe is the best president since FDR and is the last of the new dealers, it's disgusting that Trump is running so close in the polls. Heaven and Hell are just an election away in America these days and it is one of the main battlegrounds in the global struggle for liberal democracy.

Small cheap plane type drones striking bomber bases far in the rear has kinda changed the face of war, here is an example of a Russian bomber burning at its base. Millions of dollars' worth destroyed by drones that cost thousands and often hundreds of dollars, makes economic sense to me! Save the good military shit or use cheap drones as decoys when you do. I wonder how many Russian tanks, APCs, trucks and other equipment has been destroyed so far by $400 suicide drones which they say have about an 80% strike rate. Tanks, at least the more modern ones, cost millions each and so does many other pieces of equipment they destroyed. War is like business, the cost per kill counts as does the risk to the one doing the killing, lose less money and men than your enemy and you are likely to win.

From the video I posted, one of the commentators said that (original photos show white smoke cloud) that it was not an aircraft burning but a whack of cruse missiles that would produce white smoke and an aircraft and its fuel as black smoke. Seems like a good day for Ukraine.

A bit of a correction. Yesterday someone said that the cruise missiles would create white smoke and the aircraft fuel black. Just heard that the black smoke turns white when they pour water and fire suppressant on it. Seems that only one bomber was hit, not that that was a bad thing. Also the 42 F-16's that (was it Denmark?) was promised, 18 are said to be not fit for service. In the past some of the promised equipment came to Ukraine in not the best conditions and had to be fixed up. But it is not like Ukraine can openly complain on it.

Military intelligence: Russia sinking ferries in attempt to protect Crimean Bridge
Russia is resorting to sinking ferries in the Kerch Strait to protect the Crimean Bridge from attacks, Ukraine's military intelligence (HUR) said on Aug. 22.
The HUR said that Russian forces believe the submerged boats will provide a protective lane in the water in front of the bridge. One ferry has already been sunk and Russia plans to sink at least six in total, the HUR said.
The bridge connects the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula with Russia's Krasnodar Krai and was illegally constructed after Russia occupied and annexed Crimea in 2014.
As a key military supply route for Russian occupying forces in Crimea and southern Ukraine, it is a "legitimate military target" for the Ukrainian military, the HUR said.
Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) claimed responsibility for the July 17 attack on the Crimean Bridge and said they used an experimental sea drone in the operation, CNN reported on Aug. 15.
The explosion heavily damaged a section of the bridge for road traffic and may not be fully repaired until November, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said on the day of the attack.
The SBU claimed official responsibility for the first attack on the bridge, on Oct. 10, 2022, in July.
On Aug. 12, multiple Russian media outlets shared videos of smoke rising near the Crimean Bridge and the Russian proxy head of occupied Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, said that air defense had intercepted two missiles over the Kerch Strait.
He claimed that the Crimean Bridge was not damaged. According to the independent Russian media outlet Meduza, traffic on the Crimea Bridge was halted "for the third time in the day."
Another Russian media outlet Astra reported that locals in Kerch heard "at least eight explosions."
On Aug. 6, the Ukrainian military confirmed striking the Chonhar and Henichesk bridges, which connects northern Crimea with occupied Kherson Oblast.

They might need those ferries to evacuate their troops and lackeys from Crimea when the Ukrainians blow the Kerch bridge.
