Hey Urination, I have a question as to what are best practices for collecting and usage of pee for my "piss-charged" biochar project.
In this procedure, I plan to mix 10% charged biochar into my Coots mix. From what I've read, collected urine should sit for a while to become sterile. The time frame is months from what I gather. But, I don't really have the time to wait that long. I have a few weeks before I transplant into this soil.
I guess my question is, how do I go about collecting, and storing my urine until I soak my biochar. My guess is I will need a few bladders full to soak the biochar. Not sure exactly how much I'll need, but suffice to say it would be several fluid ounces. Should I just starting peeing in a bucket until I have enough? Assuming I start collecting in a bucket, should I leave it uncovered so as to keep it from going anaerobic? Will a strong odor develop? Once I have enough piss collected, the plan is to soak the biochar for three days, and then mix the charged product into my soil. Will it be ok to let the soil sit and cook for any period of time with the piss-char in it? Bottom line, will I be creating nasty pathogens? Hoping some of you can chime in and share your ideas how I can safely, and discreetly (don't want to alert the wife to my project) carry this out.
