I feel VERY lucky to have a job. I work in a manufacturing plant that produces exhaust and other types of formed tubes, for the trucking and heavy duty equipment industries. If more people paid attention to the truck suppliers (our customers include Mack/Volvo, International, Freightliner, Paccar, and many many others) they would see that they have been affected by the down economy just as much if not more than the auto industry. We have gone from a hi of about 250 employees last summer, down to about 120 now. With the 3 more people getting laid off last week.

I've been working there for 13 years, I started less than a month after high school. I spent the last 2 years of high school at a vocational school taking drafting. I got my interview through the school and got a job in the engineering dept. A lot has changed since then. I started out drawing tubes of all sizes and shapes and mufflers for all different types of machines. As time went on and people came and went I started doing more. We had just a hand full of computers and someone needed to fix them, it turned out to be me. I no longer draw (unless absolutely necessary), I check every body else's drawings. I don't only fix the handful of computers, I now have set up, including hand pulling over 7000ft of network line, and maintain a network of over 100 computers (at max) and over 30 printers.

Then a few years ago we got CNC benders. Some one had to learn to program them, me again. I don't do that anymore either, unless there's a problem. About that same time we started getting more complicated parts from our newer customers. We need some one to build assembly fixtures for the welding department, who else but me. I also take technical calls from customers. I could go on but I'll stop, sorry for the rant. Thanks for listening and good luck in all you do!
hahah i am a woman love
My bad once again and yes you ARE

Hey peeps, s'goin' on?

Good luck on that, simpson. I'm jobless currently, but my family is in the process of gettin' 500~k to pay for a nice place of business. It's a 3/4ths restaurant 1/4th bar and stage type deal; 2floors, similar to what you have.

The building needs some work, but that shouldn't be too big a deal since we have fingers in real estate as well and we all know how to make junk to gold :)

Good luck to all the people that are currently job hunting

Well I was an OTR driver, class A CDL. Lost my job - and my license - two weeks before Christmas, after a 70+ yr old woman hit my car, because I was between insurance companies for four days. Hubby was a machinist at his company for four years - and his entire shift got laid off two weeks after Christmas. Took him four months to find another job, he's manufacturing beds now - and although it pays less than either of us used to make, we are both very grateful for it.:peace: My two oldest are in high school - and the only jobs they could even get over the summer, was detassleing.

I have before, and will soon :D

I'm chattin with a couple people hoping to start a partnership with them so it all works out. I got the knowledge, light, and seeds and pots and all that jazz, and they have the house and other shit and we both got people to sell to so hopefully this'll work out, hopefully!
Yeah. They do, but I can't smoke dro blunts, I don't have the money for that. Getting a bunch of mids, so I can smoke blunt after blunt. the ones I get aren't too bad but I've had a lot of crap.

what can i do to talk you out of a grow partnership?

ive tried this and ended up losing thousands of dollars and a friend in the process. someone will always feel like they deserve more because they do more work. contempt will arise, trust me. i ended up walking out on 4-1000w air-cooled rigs, 4-4x4 e&f trays with the fixings, and tons of little things.

we had agreed to move it all in pounds to keep traffic to a minimum then one day i find out hes been talking around the neighborhood about selling oz's! said we would make more money....but at what cost? now half the neighborhood knows weve got herb for sale. bad form, bigtime.

now there is someone out there that know i know how to grow and have the desire to do so. its a fucking liability for the rest of my life.

be patient and grow by yourself.

and dro blunts are gross....good way to ruin some tasty dro IMO.

hehe...i said, 'dro'

I'm glad I don't need a job..... very glad. 9.7% Unemployment and RISING. It's just beginning folks....it's going to be a very rough ride for the unprepared.

Whatever you do.... do NOT quit your job. No matter what.
