IMO the best thing that could possably happen now is gridlock.

Ok Dark, Obama had super majority in the senate and substantial power in the house.
If the left is so MJ friendly why didn't they pass legislation washing their hands of the whole affair?
They could have drafted legislation giving states the enforcement power over MJ it would have been a five page bill.
They could have sold it easily amoungst fiscal conservatives, social liberals and states rights advicates no problem.
Instead Obama lauphed it off like a million people were signing a petition as a damn joke?
My guess is they use their "Social Liberal" stance as a political tool.
Just like the republicans use abortion and gun rights.

He voted for state run mandatory health care in Massachusetts. The program is almost identical to "Obamacare".
So he's clearly nothing more than a populist, saying whatever is needed to get elected. When people in Mass were screaming to get health care he voted for it, when the Teabaggers invaded the state he was against it.

Rep. Barney Frank said he plans to file a bill to legalize "small amounts" of marijuana.
Frank announced his plans late Friday on the HBO show "Real Time," hosted by Bill Maher.
"I'm going to file a bill as soon as we go back to remove all federal penalties for the possession or use of small amounts of marijuana," Frank, a Massachusetts Democrat, told Maher.
Frank didn't define "small amounts." Efforts to reach Frank on Saturday were not immediately successful.
Frank said he'd filed a similar bill in the Massachusetts Legislature in the 1970s, but hasn't tried since he was elected to Congress.
"I finally got to the point where I think I can get away with it," he said.
Frank said he thinks "its time for the politicians in this one to catch up to the public. The notion that you lock people up for smoking marijuana is pretty silly."

Conservatives nationwide rallied behind Brown to eliminate the Democrat supermajority in the Senate. That is a good thing. No single party should have the power to do what the Democrats tried to do. Had they been less ham-fisted in their fervor to ram through a partisan agenda, this seat would still be safely in Democratic hands.

This election was a rebuke of all things Obama. The 'mandate' Democrats crowed over just one year ago today has expired.

Coakley was a shitty candidate who ran a shitty campaign and thought she had the election wrapped up after the primary. I voted for her yesterday (very unenthusiastically truth be told) but I'm glad that this turned out to be an actual race rather than the usual coronation that democrats get in this state. I know many republicans are going to ignore all the details of this race and proclaim this to be a referendum on obama's policies, but there's much more to it than that.
