I am removing any evidence that I ever grew or smoked pot from this site, there seems to be a lot of conservatrives on here and I don't trust them, with the momentum swinging back towards the religious wingnuts by 2012 they will be tracking us down like dogs. Hopefully Scott Brown will do as he promised instead of going to Washington and falling in with the typical Republican establishment. I may not agree with him on many issues, but I liked what he said tonight. I also thought it showed class for him to speak of Ted Kennedy the way he did.

IMO the best thing that could possably happen now is gridlock.

Ok Dark, Obama had super majority in the senate and substantial power in the house.
If the left is so MJ friendly why didn't they pass legislation washing their hands of the whole affair?
They could have drafted legislation giving states the enforcement power over MJ it would have been a five page bill.
They could have sold it easily amoungst fiscal conservatives, social liberals and states rights advicates no problem.
Instead Obama lauphed it off like a million people were signing a petition as a damn joke?
My guess is they use their "Social Liberal" stance as a political tool.
Just like the republicans use abortion and gun rights.
They have NO intention of ever doing anything about it.
If they did they would lose hold on large chunks of their voting block.
IMO the feds should have no authority over MJ, abortion or gun control anyway.

I voted this afternoon for Sen. Brown because of D.C.'s OUT OF CONTROL spending and special interest bribes to those Obama needs for his march to Socialism. Even the uber liberals here in the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts are revolting.

MA has long been considered a Democratic stronghold (Kennedys & others) For that state to vote in a republican now speaks volumes about the failures of the current administration. Expect a lot more upsets this November in the general elections.

And the rest of the world groans.

That fine though, we'll all be dead by the time our lack of action really takes effect.

He voted for state run mandatory health care in Massachusetts. The program is almost identical to "Obamacare".
So he's clearly nothing more than a populist, saying whatever is needed to get elected. When people in Mass were screaming to get health care he voted for it, when the Teabaggers invaded the state he was against it.

Barny Frank is trying.

Rep. Barney Frank said he plans to file a bill to legalize "small amounts" of marijuana.
Frank announced his plans late Friday on the HBO show "Real Time," hosted by Bill Maher.
"I'm going to file a bill as soon as we go back to remove all federal penalties for the possession or use of small amounts of marijuana," Frank, a Massachusetts Democrat, told Maher.
Frank didn't define "small amounts." Efforts to reach Frank on Saturday were not immediately successful.
Frank said he'd filed a similar bill in the Massachusetts Legislature in the 1970s, but hasn't tried since he was elected to Congress.
"I finally got to the point where I think I can get away with it," he said.
Frank said he thinks "its time for the politicians in this one to catch up to the public. The notion that you lock people up for smoking marijuana is pretty silly."

I am totally for legalization of marijuana, but I have to differ with Frank on this: to think that at this time with this administration that you could get away with a bill legalizing pot actually is what sounds silly.

Conservatives nationwide rallied behind Brown to eliminate the Democrat supermajority in the Senate. That is a good thing. No single party should have the power to do what the Democrats tried to do. Had they been less ham-fisted in their fervor to ram through a partisan agenda, this seat would still be safely in Democratic hands.

This election was a rebuke of all things Obama. The 'mandate' Democrats crowed over just one year ago today has expired.

Democratic keywords today: Teabagger, racist, redneck, obstructionist.

Apples and oranges. There is a vast difference between the two health care proposals. One is Constitutional and one is not.

Coakley was a shitty candidate who ran a shitty campaign and thought she had the election wrapped up after the primary. I voted for her yesterday (very unenthusiastically truth be told) but I'm glad that this turned out to be an actual race rather than the usual coronation that democrats get in this state. I know many republicans are going to ignore all the details of this race and proclaim this to be a referendum on obama's policies, but there's much more to it than that.

This election meant one thing - we don't want your healthcare bill!
