Hey lonestand, thought I would pop in and see how you are doing. I see you've got all the experimenting done with and your growing skunk. Good choice, easy to grow and a producer. Those are some cold temps you are working with, My room gets to the low 40"s at night in the winter, just in case the electric bill is gettin up there thought I'd let you know I run a little cooler and see no ill effects.

Ya know, If you were to grow SCROG style and kept an even canopy not only would you get more light to the buds giving you a better yield but in a shorter area you may be able to enclose it and retain some heat. warming the root zone is a good idea too. I used the heat from a light rope under the roots.

Anyway, good luck man.

thanks cruz, i think i will take your advice and try a SCROG. Well my First 2 phenos of Hawaiian Surprise hit 10% amber tricombes and I harvested them a few days ago after using the paper bag then box drying method my approx 4 oz wet goodness is now in jars.

Congrats man, always good to get that first grow under your belt and have some stash.
Be sure to pop the jars in a day or two and smell it, If it still smells dank then you are good to go, If it takes on a cut grass small then dump it out and let it dry some more. Yea, I think you will like the scrog growing style. I think its the best way to grow indoors.

holy crap it smells dank, i popped the tops this after noon for about 30 Min's and it made my whole room smell like yummy dank bud $$$$ Its not even cured yet so i wont do a smoke report but wow its already a really light energizing high, at first i dint notice it then before i knew it i was bouncing around finish projects i had put off for a year. Its a very sativa high with an energy boost! Exactly what i was hoping for in this strain :)

Now i need to decide which pheno I'm sticking with, and make my future buds bigger

The Next Generation!

No this is not a star trek plug but why not its always fun watchen the hot babes in tight uniforms!
T%27Pol%20On%20Defiant.jpgHowever from this point in my grow journal i will be focusing less on my signature strain Hawaiian Surprise, and more on my current grows.
I do not feel that a new thread for every grow I do is the direction I wish to head in.
I want to focus all my growtastic efforts into this my origonal thread. So what am i up to you may ask well...

Upcoming strains will include but are not limited to:

Hawaiian Surprise

Super Lemon Haze

Blueberry

Annestisa

Osiris

SKU

Let’s start this off by showing the results of my skunk strain I’m calling SKU.

This one was not only hard to produce a female from seed, seeing like an 80% male ratio, with later hermi characteristics in flowering.

This one was a shocker at first it grew beautifully fast and strong, and then it took a very long time to ripen for harvest.

Now here’s where it gets strange with the o'le SKU, initial test buds showed a nice strong sleeper buzz that snuck up on you and made you giggly and couch locked.

After curing the bud taken on a earthy musk smell its potency has dramatically diminished, needless to say I will be discontinuing this fail-strain.

:joint::hump: Ive noticed with the high quality strains in this grow the smell is much less noticeable. Also my experience with this water system and nutrient usage i have been able to keep my plants much better looking. Of course I'm still getting a tiny bit of yellowing on the leaves of my oldest LSH and Hawaiian, I have high hopes that the future will only find me growing better and better plants!:blsmoke:

thanks for taking the time to view my fav hobby and please feel free to give me your honest criticism

Your long wait will now be rewarded with my continued grow-ventures.

Making sure to get my 420 beans ordered from attitude, i was hoping for the greenhouse seeds freebies, howeveri guess supplies ran out so no exudus cheese, superbud, or klasnikov for methis round :(

however they did supply me withgrapfruit kush emrald jack and jack h.

My main order was for Tangerinedream, bubba kush, ice, and NL5

Quite accidently i have come accross a cat-tastic new topping method.

While my prowling cats take the occasional lunch break in my veg room,
i soon discovered that when thedevistated plants grow in they become very bushy and cola riddenbeauties.

this Anesstesia took a slight midnight cat chewing

A look into the summer Veg corner.

100_2019.jpg

Here you see 2 aero garden elites for fun, and I have named the one on the left with the cfl side light Tomato beard.

100_2013.jpg
100_2018.jpg
100_2016.jpg100_2012.jpg

I also grow various things I find interesting that day, that’s why I have 2 pineapples soaking up the unending summer, to onions and all sorts of hot peppers and carrots flowers and herbs like Mary Jane and cat nip to name a few also my cliarontro will be ready for my next Mexican night. Wonder if I could do an avocado lol?

Any ways here the plats receive 18/6 hours of light and plentiful water with minimum fox farms liquid nute snacks. It’s a constant 76 degrees and 43% humidity. Water is from the tap and allowed to sit out for a day.
100_2014.jpg 100_2015.jpg
I’m currently vegging SLH, Blueberry, Osiris and newly added NL5. I’ve done most of my testing with my own seed that has come from hermied plants I have created from time to time, sometimes I find neat traits in them, but they are always good for test sprouts and such. It feels good to be self sufficient too.

I pick items from my grow room daily for my salads and dinner veggies, keeps me entertained for now at least.

100_2005.jpg

here are some Vanilla kush clones

So my Tangerine Nightmares have all bit the dust cept one shot left that I will try on an upcoming grow.

so lets revisit the cause, it turns out compost fresh and wet is loaded with nasty little POT WORMS, the bugs still don’t outweigh the benefits of the natural soil I’m my opinion yet. So I continue to refine my soil mix.

After close inspection for 4 failed starts, I discovered the barley cracked open seed pods full of white mush, then what’s that a tap root? No omfg it just moved, and there’s 3 more holy shit!!!

Well it turns out these worms though harmless other than to seedlings. And these little white worms are not fungus Nat larva which look like caterpillars with black dots on their head these defiantly are white tinny earthworms are not fungus nats just another composted soil critter, that happens to eat the hell out of cannabis seeds innards.

Btw they are a sign or a nutrient rich acidic soil, this stuff makes the ladies scream and giggle so they end up tasting good.

More to the point all of my recent seedling were not germinating, and after trial and error and CRUZ's guaranteed to work sprouting method I have developed my no fail seed sprouting tec.

so to combat this enemy, I tried the seeds in water ad on a plate with paper towel in bag, and this works every time I never had one not work.

however this isn’t practical to my current set up, so I took it in tow and moved to Rockwool cubes with a thumb print hole seed dropped in and placed in humidy dome with heat pad, this works perfectly also and with a slight mix of Rockwool starter solution and diluted fox farm liquid nutes they thrive in paradise.

100_2007.jpg

This shot was of a 4.8 day old Greenhouse northern lights number 5 Bean. and she’s screaming up to the led light, with cfl side light, conditions are 86% humidity and 86 degrees

Also inspired by Cruz’s supper cropping on the insanely awesome looking Tangerines I have decided to take one of my blueberries and bent her over, this will be a fun experiment added to the cat topping method.

There ya go, that's another great way to keep the plants where you want them.
Its just a bonus it closer to the cats.

Maybe you could do it to the girls under the areo gardens, they look pretty close to the lights. Maybe bend the plants to the lights next to them.

That would freak me out if I was looking for a tap root, found it and it moved!

Sweet.
I made the move about a year ago and glad I did.
Not only do the plants seem to produce more trichomes that gives me a better smoke the white light takes better pictures.

Enjoy.

Speaking of better pictures! :fire:

i decided to take my last round of pics under the orange yellow glow of the HPS. Heres the current status of my perpetual personal grow.

i have a lot of blueberry, some SLH, Osiris, and my first try at Vanilla Kush!

I'm really hoping for More bush buds with my new CMH lamp, but as you can see my 35 day old Vanilla Kush plant is filling out nicely, i believe i had to many plants crammed under my HPS 400 and thats why i had skinny buds on the older plants in this grow.

Before these pics i pulled two plants out and made sure the remaining are getting good lumen's.
