instead of sitting in the house all day, arguing about the weather on the internet, maybe you all could go OUTSIDE and actually enjoy some of it. ;)

just a helpful thought.

how about htis numbskull, THEY DONT HAVE FUCKING POISON IN THEM.

can you understand that?
Dude you have Hg (mercury) in fish..now which one do you think has more mercury in it....also we have Hg in thermometers are you afraid of them too...you also get Hg emissions from coal-fired electrical power...you do realize how long thats been around...do you wish to get rid of that too...I suggest you do some research buddy

incandescent light bulbs are delicious and unlike CFLs, are safe to eat as they contain no poison.

i am going to have a bowl of 'filaments and chards' cereal now.

oh i'm reading, and rflmao as i do. :)

thank you.
just got done feeding my snakes. a corn, king, and garter. and my fish, i green sunfish, bluegill, 2 bullhead cats and an american eel.

the eel is the coolest, he will eat out of your hand and let you pet his head. pretty amazing for a fish i caught at the shore a few months ago.

catfish are like little kids afraid of their own shadow. they are really dumb.

so people have no idea what kind of lightbulbs we need? hmmm just a bunch of walking talking idiots roaming around, aimlessly?

no choices on bulbs prior to the passage of the law? wow.

thats the stupidest post you ever made. congrats.
No, seriously. People really have NO CLUE what they want... How much do you know about lightbulbs, Jeff? On this site people generally know a bit about HIDs, CFLs, and LEDs but how many people do you know that know HID lamps and ballasts well? How about something your less likely to know a ton about - projector lamps? Again, jeff, I have tons of recent experience in the lightbulb industry... Could probably tell you damn near everything about damn near any lamp used for not just residential, but industrial and commercial lighting as well... Photography, etc etc... Halogen JC, JCD, MR16 lamps...

People really have no idea what all of this shit is... For every incandescent leaving the market people are gaining at least a half dozen choices. For example, for every 60 watt incandescent you wont be able to buy (lasting between 1000-2000 hours usually... there are some that last longer called Rough service lamps or you could use higher voltage lamps like 130v or 145v instead of 120v blah blah blah)... but anyway you'll be able to get a Warm white CFL, 5000k CFL, 6500k CFL (there are a few less common ones including "Full spectrum" lamps these days... all CFLs lasting between 8-10k hours and use 1/4 of the energy) or you could go with LED Warm white or daylight(which last 20k-50k hours depending on brand/model and use even less energy)... There's the Halogen 60w, which is actually brighter and is protected under the act as a specialty lamp... I could keep going but you get the picture...

true story, i bought a 5 pack of floro for the lights i use them in. my 10 year old accidently sat on one and smashed it.

didnt call the company, probably should have but did a little research on how to clean them up. pretty much was supposed to vacuum pack the whole house and call hazardous waste company to clean the house.

i didnt do that. i hope my daughter doesnt have any ill effects.

you can keep joking about mercury if you want. but i hear its bad for you and the environment.....but you dont care about that cuz you know the govt is out to help you.

with the exception of a few hid's, all made in china. nice.

i just got done replacing 4000 fixtures for the local school district for a green project. i know lightbulbs. and i know the flourescent ones are very bad for you when they break, which they do everytime you throw them away. loaded with mercury.

and its wonderful that you are so smart and can RESEARCH lightbulbs by reading. i'll bet that most americans never heard of the internet.

maybe air out the room for 15 minutes and then clean...no need to call anyone...I would suggest that you don't put bulbs down where a child would sit:neutral:..I mean you have to be somewhat of a responsible parent..also coal has natural Hg in it..so when we burn coal to make electricity do you realize how much mercury (Hg) we put into the environment ???look it up ..do some research...Your little girl will be find..I would worry more about her loony father

Yeah, that's completely unneeded. The only time the vapors even get into the air is if the bulb breaks while it's on otherwise it'll just end up on the floor and you just vacuum/sweep. Besides that Flouro's have much much much less mercury in them now than they used to have... It used to be a little pebble sized chunk(it would turn into gas form once you started using it) now it's closer to the size of a ball point pen.
