when did this ..........."ahhh fuck it i don't want to pay taxes anymore" attitude come into effect? this is like fighting about why you can't go into a store and have free shit because you want it.
It started when Reagan decided that if we stop forcing the 1% to pay taxes they'll be in a better mood and decide to shower us with gold.

No. If you build a house you're working in exchange for income. That's earning money. It's making the country a better place. When you speculate on oil futures you are not contributing any service to society. You're a parasite gaining wealth at the expense of other Americans. It isn't working or earning money. It's extracting money from our economy. And yes said:
unfortunately thats our post-1970's attitude on getting rich. our government pushed for it, paid for it, and allowed it to happen on even greater scales.

You're advocating them not being taxed at all. Yes, I think when some Wall St asshole buys up a company, fires everyone, then harvests that company's wealth for his own personal benefit he should have to pay taxes on the money that he didn't earn but acquired. Crazy stuff, I know.

If you work in exchange for money then I think your taxes should be the same if not lower. I just want to raise taxes on folks that do not work for the money they earn, but instead just stay wealthy by leeching off of the labor of the American people.
Your first point, please show me records of that EVER happening, lmao.
Second point, when you buy a stock are you not taking place in that company's drive to raise capital, which would them be providing a good or a service?
Also are you not adding liquidity to the market place?

by the way, I'm still waiting for someone to show me some proof that the US federal government spends an unusually large amount of money compared to other governments. Come on conservatives, here's your big chance to prove we have "big government" here in the US.

Or are you guys just unhappy that we aren't modeling our federal government after Somalia?
Uhmmmm, Alex, ill take Switzerland for 500
Debt to GDP 55%
Americas debt to GDP closing in on 100%

Im sure i could find plenty more examples of countries spending less, i just thought Switzerland was appropriate ;)

What do i win?

What makes income tax theft but other taxes just?
because income tax is just taking money from your labor and giving it directly to the government,

to put it simply and stupidly: other taxes serve actual purposes or are based on specific goods and services, Income tax just says hey give us money just cuz you made money so you have to give us some of that money cuz we said so the feds needs it for stuff and thangs, scuse me! what?

Debt as percentage of GDP doesn't measure how much our government spends. It measures how much we spend without taxing.

Federal government spending as a % of GDP is the statistic that measures how much we spend in comparison to what we earn.

Either way, naming one country that spends less money on government than the US doesn't prove we have an unusually large government. And in case you were wondering, Switzerland does spend more money on it's federal government than we do.

The US does not spend an unusually large portion of it's money on government. That is just a lie purported by the top 1% in order to get middle class services cut so they can have bigger tax cuts. It is factually incorrect.

Yes, the foundation of the conservative philosophy is all a big lie. Sorry to be the one to have to tell you...

Which SOMETIMES led to layoffs.
Oh, well if he only fired people and sent jobs overseas for profit sometimes than I guess that's ok.

But over the whole period of the company, it led to more hirings than layoffs.
I'm happy for the people of China and India who got all those jobs, but I'd prefer those jobs stayed in the US rather than sending them to China so Romney can extract more wealth from the companies.

Where on that debt clock does it show that the US has an unusually large government?

All that debt clock tells me is that if we stop taxing the wealthy for 30 years, we end up with massive debt.

So pretty much what your saying is we've been doing a bang up job? We should keep spending more and more on social programs and bills to "stimulate our economy"? We should tax the hell outa the people creating our jobs? So much that they go overseas? Is that what the "Liberal philosophy" is?

not the best chart but I got to go for now, If you don't think government spending is out of control you live in lala land...

for saying that your going to try to stereotype me a typical conservative. I understand a lot of their rhetoric is bullshit trickle down economics, etc.... I don't fall for the conservative crap, but the spending is out of control. There is so many examples of this its an endless discussion.

want to know how i know you're brainwashed?

because rich people don't create jobs, aggregate demand creates jobs.

the uber wealthy are sitting on trillions, should be easy to create a whole bunch of jobs, right? :dunce:

I'm saying that the fundamental point of the conservative movement that the US government is too big and we need to cut services to the middle class, poor, and elderly to reduce spending to a normal rate is a big lie. We actually spend less on our federal government than most countries and we even spend less in government over all than most other first world nations.

When conservatives state that government is large, they are lying. It's simply not true. We do not have an unusually large government. The only part of our government that is unusually large is our military. Everything else is smaller than the average nation.

We should keep spending more and more on social programs and bills to "stimulate our economy"?
I think we should spend more on infrastructure. It's a solid investment that improves the long term economic outlook as well as stimulates the economy.

We should tax the hell outa the people creating our jobs?
I don't agree that just because someone is wealthy they are a "job creator".

The government is unusually large when you can't smoke marijuana, build a deck in your backyard, feed people, garden, drink raw milk, talk on the phone in private, go to the airport without an anal probe, use 27point gothic font on a sign less than 10.5 meters from the road, avoid being injected with their drugs, yea...................................................I could go on forever about our police state.......

But lets be practical okay....I would but I got to go now..
