Exactly Define Your God Experiment

this is the largest problem people have: they ask you to EXPLAIN GOD.

GOD is something you know is greater than yourself, something you know is there because you feel it there every time you come into contact with ______. for me its love, family and friends. for others i know its community, knowing that we ARE here for a reason, and that reason is EACH OTHER. GOD is different things to many people, but it all comes down to a feeling and faith.

heres a question to all the Science junkies out there... EXPLAIN Quantum Mechanic's AND Explain WHAT energy is, and how the 2 work in conjuction.... Good luck?

...do we owe them to you?
No you don't, but i figured religious people would be all over this just teeming to spill what they think god is and looks like etc. But it seems to me as if something is stopping them. Maybe a sense of fear of ridicule, because they know their claims about god are completely ridiculous.

Wouldn't that mean you believe in love family and friends, and not god?

Also, what if we aren't here for a reason, how do you know that we are... if there exists a possibility that we aren't.

...I've yet to see a believer here ridicule you. Man, you seem to wear the shirt, so to speak. "I'm smart, they're 'ahem'". To anyone with half a brain, you might look smart...I'll give you that.

edit: Every single religious, or 'sacred' text says the same thing. It takes spiritual eyes to see 'god'. In other words, if you can see god in everyone, no matter who, then you've got the description. At which point, posting it here under extreme pretense would seem a numbing experience in comparison.

thats another big problem people have.... they assume GOD is a physical being.

heres a question for you, After you die, What are you then? (play along a minitue and lets assume there is a "Heaven" and a "GOD") your Physical body is DEAD, you would have left it.. gone to another place entirely, a place which is not physical. IF GOD resides in this place it would mean he is NOT a physical being, yes?

How can you ridicule someone who knows the truth and has no beliefs, someone who understands completely what beliefs are... merely thoughts and ideas. Not saying i'm smarter than anyone, just that i have a better understanding.

The truth is that your beliefs are thoughts, wishful thinking, ideas... nothing more, nothing less. I just understand that, where others refuse to.

That is a very good question, and my answer; I do not know... and neither do you.

The ideas and thoughts that you have about these things, you must understand, they are just that. Ideas and thoughts. For the most part, wishful thinking.

(I hope this is the way it is, and maybe if i believe hard enough... it will be true. Yet, deep down, inside myself i know... that what i want to be true, could very well turn out to be false)

Dude, people with 'better understandings' don't go around saying 'I have a better understanding'. Those people just 'are'.

...maybe the question is better posed as "how do you view God, what is your perspective of God". Any Holy book, as a psychological text, recognizes the multitude of minds.

I'm totally content with my view of God, and I also accept that it changes. The core will always be the same. Love. We all know that part. Anyway, I see God as 'speech'. Here's a good explanation I was once given.

Larynx - Mother
Breath - Father

(this description should look like " O and I " )

Together they create a 'sun / christ' which is a word. A living word. Words that 'come from the mountain' ie: crown, are man's most true expressions. It takes a unified heart and mind to speak from there. Those words are also known as compassionate. Think Christ, or Bodhisattvas, f.e.

Anyway, I go so far as to say universe, one word. Oddly, this does not preclude the idea of a multiverse, it speaks more to our levels of understanding.

Explain to me how brainsize in humans trippled, but not in any other mammals?Just because you dont agree with somone doesnt make them ahem.Face it evoloution can only explain so much.As far as my comment it was just to point out how religious fanaticals think, not my true views.Maybe I shoulda said my gods a sandal wearing dune jumper.
Tripled in size when compared to what? If we compare to H. habilis, our brains are only roughly twice as large. In fact, we have smaller brains than H. neanderthalensis. We also have smaller brains than bottle nose dolphins and other cetaceans. Our brains got larger over evolutionary time, it's not as big of a mystery as you make it out to be. Besides, just pointing to an area of study were science is incomplete does not lend any support to the god hypothesis. You just create an argument from ignorance, i.e. "We don't know some fact about x in the natural world, therefore divine intervention." This obviously is fallacious reasoning.

Not physical but has some kind of features. Guess where people get this silly idea from? Could it possibly be things like, "Let us make man in our image."

If god can manipulate the physical world he must have at least some physical properties, yes?

...I'm curious to know how you view 'let us make man in our image'? Even if you don't normally 'view' this idea, what would you say?

...If God made us in 'his/her' image, it would mean (to me) his=mind=sun / hers=body=earth. He would 'use' his consort, the combination of those two principles - people.

Just an opinion.

I apologize if this upsets you, but your beliefs are ideas, they are not true. They have the possibility of being true, just as they have the same possibility of being false.

...have the entire world stop thinking and talking, we'll see if this idea holds true. *shrugs* And I agree totally, they can be false to someone else - and that's totally cool with me.

excuse me, but please dont get upset...

how do you know you are correct? How can you speak for everyone?

YOur own logic has the possibility of being false, but no one is telling you are wrong... Why do you think that what you say is always right?

WHy do you think beliefs are ideas for everyone?

What is it that makes you think your quest for the truth applies to everyone? As in what you are learning applies to me or eye?

God experiment eh?God is the biggest idea ever conceived ill give it that. But it is more so not conceiving ideas at all in my opinion. In fact the complete opposite of what God SEEMS to be constituted of(mans ego), once again my opinion). No ego,no thought,no concepts,Yet not the state of nirvana, but the state of what steadily is and what remains steadily uninterupted of true expression.Or at-one-ness within if u will.

I couldnt agree more Dis, you must be a fellow meditator. No thinking, no mind, no thought, no ego. Just being. At oneness within.
