Fuck all tbh. I lined it with a Mylar coated camping mat I already had. The lamp fitting cost £4 in total. Bulbs I already had. £2 for the tub from the supermarket £10 for the air pump and stone and £15 for the nutes. And the case is from my old pc which was just collecting dust.

I'd keep it on the same thread. It's not like you're starting a new grow or anything.
ok well today my temps reached an all time high so i need to rethink what im doing. gonna go cut a huge hole in the wall and fit me a better exhaust fan

Got a pic of the hps all plugged in? Whenever I think of HID lights I always think of the giant ones hanging from the ceiling. The diagram you posted makes it look like it fit inside the computer. What were the temps like?

im waiting for my glass tube to arrive before i try and mount it in the pc. ill take a pic tonight just before lights on as i have been in there a lot lately and i dont wanna stress my girls out half way through flowering. although i have to say, just using the hps for one day i can see quite a large growth spurt in the 2 big bud plants. also the temps peaked at 33.9c which is like a fucking oven. im gonna make a co2 bottle though hopefully the heat wont fuck with em too badly then. i have to wait until the missus is out before i can start cutting holes in the walls. she would freak if she saw me doing it.

well i have to say the hps has really made a massive difference, i have been able to bend my 2 autos twice in the last 2 days. the widows are starting to frost up nicely as well. about another 5 weeks on those i reckon, but we'll let them tell me when theyre ready. will post a few pics a bit later on

With Hid lights you really have to try to cool a space...I have a 20in box fan in each tent..the flower tent also has a 6 in inline fan blowing across the bulb, and then another inline fan blowing through the carbon scrubber, then another inline fan exhausting the whole thing...veg isn't too big a deal with temps...but the flower space is...jeez...

And as I have upgraded the lights, I had to upgrade the AC as well...we have central, and then an extra 5000 btu in the window cuz our room/plant room stays hot as hell and I like to stay cool where I sleep...the bedroom is my sanctuary...I need it to be 70 degrees or less...lol..but with both lights going at the same time 5000 couldn't cut it anymore...so we got an 8000...I wanted a 10000 but hubby says 8000 is enough...and I guess it is...but......I wanted a 10000

I have found if I turn the lights on at night (6pm-6am) and if I leave the door ajar until I go to bed (usually around midnight) then the temps don't really have a chance to get too high. Highest has been 31c so far, so I'm happy with that.

anyone got any insight on how to get humidity down. went up to 91% last night, which to me, during flowering seems very high. please bear in mind i have no exhaust in my cupboard at the moment. its hard waiting until the missus and kids are out of the house so i can get the jigsaw and drill out to cut a hole in the wall.

Damn dude, you don't want humidity higher than 50% maybe 60% during flowering. That's really high. Depending on how much room you have there are moisture absorbers you can buy online or at store like wal-mart. A bowl of salt with also work. At 91% you're most def at risk for bud rot. Improved air circulation will also help.

edit: Just read you have no exhaust...the methods I listed will help, but if you don't have an exhaust I can't see any of the above dropping it down 30%. The moisture in the air has to be vented out or adequately absorbed. Another grower used the salt method and it dropped her humidity by 5%.
