Ok.. You brought it up.

I have been worried about you. You bet me that you'd put up pics of the next meal your badassness prepared.
I have yet to see anymore food pics... This leads me to believe that you must be almost starved to death:o

Lol, sorry. I like to play around, but...

lol oh man I did say that huh? It's too bad because yesterday I made scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, hash browns, biscuits, and grits...then smoked a fat spliff. Didn't even think to take a pic! Might make some chicken alfredo tomorrow :p

Im keeping the cuts covered. Trying for optimum environ.
Going to make more this evening, after it cools a bit more.

Ill have you something rooted, by god! (figuratively speaking, not saying there is or isn't a god here.)

Just gourmets right now, lost all my spore prints during one of the times we've moved.
If we get anymore consistent rain, I'll go get fresh cultures to spread and take spore prints from.

But my oyster mushrooms and shiitakes are fookin delicious !!! :) :)
i need to get more substrate for these as well. Gotta keep myself fed, ya know?!
Yeah I'm primarily worried about getting cuts from #2 plant (slightly shorter with slightly more indica fan leaves) -- i've decided it's my pheno of choice at least until i get a better one from seed :) #2 is also the one flowering now (lucky you) -- it had a better buzz with more body -- i think that's what you had when you were here

Well, I took cuts from both. But like I said, I can't see the difference. You probably can. Some of thexuts are going to need a good reveg. They were trying to bloom, but that may be good for you. Just root and flower.

The V man came and got a cut of each.
They still look good, no wilt.
Only slight discoloring, maybe they are making roots inside the rapid rooters!

Sounds good. No harm about the pm. there is a reason for why. but we won't go there. 103 out here in my area today, so all i'm trying to do is keep me n my puppies cool. Void, sensi, and owl.. how is texas today?

They say it's supposed to be cooler, by like ten degrees. Only like 96-97.
We'll have to see how that goes..

Much too hot, slowing growth on my girls.

So Voidling, am ii remembering correctly? Are you out of Sparkle beans? For some reason, I thought you had said that..

Do you think Big Bud x C99 could be a good cross? Have a reg Big Bud #2 and a fem c99 growing...would love to get my own thing going and keep seeds on hand.

For personal use it wouldn't hurt to giv3 it a shot. Usually you don't want to breed feminized plants.

I'm hoping the f2 seeds mature but otherwise out of sparkle. Got one clone left of it in veg

Hopefully -- mine that rooted only took around 5-6 days in rapid rooters in the dome.

Is it due to fem plants having a tendency to hermie? Is it also true that reg seeds give a better yield?

I would believe it would depend on the method used for making the fem seeds. Not all methods are necessarily going to make the progeny more susceptible to hermie.
And just because a plant has a lower threshold for hermie tendencies doesnt mean it will definitley hermie.
Its own environmental circumstances will end up being the main dictator.

I think reg seed may have the potential to produce larger yields. But it is very subjective.
So let me try and explain my thoughts on this:
Lets say I have a batch of Cheese seeds, all regs. If I grow out the seeds, and get males and females, and let them breed up and collect the seeds for grow out--when I use these seeds, they have all this genetic material that makes them Cheese seeds. But the genes came from two specimens; a male and a female. And they brought the genes up in the same fashion--mixing and connecting this medley of genes.

Now if instead, on my first seed run I remove the males and make a girl pollenate herself, the seeds will only have her particular set of genes, combined with its own genes.

The variables in things like yield, phenotype differentiation, etc. are only what it has the genetic mixtures for.

Hell, now I'm lost. Gonna post this and regroup. Don't even know if I got any point across. Sure as hell didn't simplify very well.

Oh yeah, so the resulting fem seed will be very much like what the hermom was.
It is only her genes floating in them beans.

Now that's not even getting into using the hermie pollen to hit a different plant.
Thats one for another day.

I was only thinking that a certain variety is only genetically predisposed to its own characteristics.
Selfing a plant for fem seed keeps the genes wrangled.

Whereas open pollination lets the variables be more variable.

Hmm, a lot more concise and eloquent after a bit of sleep.
