Whats goodie Nugs and everyone. First off let me introduce myself by saying I have successfully read through the entire main-lining thread that has become a glaring success, and I cant even begin to thank Nugs and everyone who has contributed so much valuable information, and has shared countless techniques, strategies, and priceless lessons learned. It is because of this thread and Nugs philosophy on organic living, sharing, and caring that prompted me to pursue Plant & Soil Sciences in my degree of study, and hopefully become a successful contributor to the world of horticulture, as Nugs and many of you have already accomplished.
Now on to the juicy stuff. After countless hours of research and study, I am finally starting my first attempt at main-lining. Now I am not an extremely experienced grower, as this is only my fifth grow. Due to my living situation, I am unable to grow outside as I wish, and am currently limited to my 3x3 GrowLabs Tent, which limits my ability to grow regular seeds and sex them. Also being my first time, I decided to go with feminized seeds from White Label Seeds, which is a sub-division of Sensi Seeds. I have concluded that they have great genetics, and are one of the better alternatives to TGA gear, as I cannot grow regular seeds currently. Any information regarding experience with White Label gear or any others that worked well with main-lining would be greatly appreciated. Obviously, I am going to be using Subcools SS recipie, and am thinking about ordering the SS fertilizer pack if anyone has any comments or experience with that. Im going to be running two 135 watt Blackstar UFO LEDs, and have access to 400 watt HPS and other supplemental CFL lighting if necessary. Now that you guys have the basic set up on to my main question.
I cant decide if I want to grow two 8 headers in the normal 7 gallons, or do something along the lines of when Nugs experimented with cutting the 22 gallon pot down to like 11 or 12 and growing a 16 headed monster when he was growing in his indoor cab, testing the limited hight. For some reason I didnt bookmark the page and cant find it haha, but I know read it somewhere. I believe Nugs tried this to experiment with the overall height in his limited space without effecting yield, but I am not really tight in hight space. I am more concerned with the 3x3 footprint, and remembered when Nugs trimmed the height of an obvious outdoor pot to limit the maximum growing height of the plant, to obviously fit in his indoor cab. I was wondering what Nugs and everyone thinks about the idea of trimming down the biggest size pot that will fit that footprint, in order to limit the ending maximum growing height to fit in the 6 foot tent, and growing a 16 headed monster, as opposed to squeezing to 8 headed 7 gallon pots. I know Nugs has tried this in his box, but has anyone experimented with this in a tent? I remember reading some math about how the maximum growing height relates to gallon size, and I feel like if I can trim down the maximum sized pot that will fit in the 3x3 footprint to a gallon size that will produce a 45 to 50 inch, 16 headed monster, It will be better than two crammed sevens. Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated.
Once again, I would just like to thank Nugs for sharing everything he knows, and everyone else who has contributed so much information to this epic thread. I have attached some pictures for reference.
