If I gave my spiteful instinct free rein, I'd say match the punishment to the crime.
There are big freezers, and coldproof duct tape. cn

I just had a reasonable conversation with the soon to be ex. She must have talked to her attorney and found out everything is not going to be just her way. That whole get your clothes and leave isn't going to work. She is willing to sign a release so I can buy. There will also be a cash settlement.

On new(er) diesel trucks, they require 2 things Ulta Low Sulpher Diesel, and DEF. That's Diesel Exhaust Fluid. And, yeah, it's real. It's also fuckin' expensive! A gallon of diesel is $4.15, give or take $0.20. The average gallon of DEF is 12 - 15 dollars. So, why is it so special? I was curious, so I looked up what it is. It's 34% Urea, 2% trace elements, and 64% water. Now, for those in the know -- that's PISS. Yeah, less minerals, and bacteria, but, it's 12 dollar a gallon PISS (unless you are refilling your DEF jugs -- nor recommended, it'll void your warranty.)

Not even Herakles could piss that, and none but a few Marine drill sergeants.

The way this stuff works is that it intercepts one of the most worrisome exhaust gases in Doiesel exhaust - NOx emissions. NOx is a function of flame temp, which is higher in Diesels than in gasoline engines ... and catalytic reduction of NOx is still not good. I frown upon the added expense and complexity, but I also see this as very good for, say, European urban environments where even the cars are becoming largely Diesels. cn

The diesel/DEF fluid exhaust smells kinda good -- it almost smells like something baking. I hate the smell of diesel and it's noxious exhaust, but, the diesel/DEF. Not so bad.

And, c'mon don't kill my awesome find. I mean, yeah, it serves a purpose, but it is essentially some crazy piss.

I love the smell of Diesel exhaust. For me, it's closely associated with childhood memories: the smell of airport and then vacation in Europe. cn

See, my memories are a bit more tainted -- diesel exhaust meant drunk grandfather was home from an OTR, generally angry, and ready to re-establish his supreme dominance. He also thought a fitting punishment for any and all infractions was 10 whacks with his John Wayne trucker's belt (mostly he remember which end to beat us with...) And, crying was an infraction (not by the tear, by the sound, so it worked in my favor, I've never really done the crying thing, I get angry.)

EDIT: To this day, I hate blended whisky and gin, because those were his drinks of choice, and as a "reward" for taking the whooping "like a man" we'd "get" to drink a shot of whichever he was drinking. Thankfully, the last time I had to live with, or around, or deal with them was when I turned 10.

I got the last laugh. He's in the ground, just like my plants.

Seriously, I'm very impressed with my mom, and her raising me, I should have had all the markers, but she constantly instilled a sense of right, not because wrong was wrong, but because there are consequences, she worked on training and socializing, and letting me know what is "wrong." And, what acceptable wrongs I can do, in certain situations.
