One of those stupid questions...

In real life, how do you meet people? I know you'll have friends with similar interests, but, how do you meet them, to find out if you have similarities? The boss lady and I were pure luck (on my part.) But, I don't know hot to meet people, in real life. I can walk into a group of people, and generally become the center, and be heard. But, no one knows me. I'd like to know how you really "meet" people.

The funny thing... The two people I consider "friends" ...

One's my boss, who I can't talk to about shit that "friends" talk about, because he would have to fire me, by law. He knows I smoke, he gets mad when I'm not smoking, and complains to my coworkers, but, he can't legally "know" I smoke. He is also dating someone that I used to "know" (bible way ... about 20 years ago...) I don't think I should bring up THAT subject, though. Since he's officially stated she's more than just a friend... and he's got her kid's toys in his work truck...

The other's a neighbor, who happens to belong to the one "gang" that is a direct rival to the one I grew up in. So, our conversations can be interesting... We generally just smoke copious amounts of weed, and chill, though. Oh, and, he's kinda' in a tight spot because of me. I called his "girlfriend" a fat, nasty fuckin' cunt. Quite loudly. Because she's a fat, loud nasty cunt, and was rude to me.

I gotta do better than luck. I need a few people that I can call friend. Or, at least acquaintance.

EDIT: And, I'm pretty sure, thinking back on it, that this is how the boss lady's going to find out why the boss's "girlfriend" (who he met during a business meeting) was so interested in me, until I blew her off and talked about the boss lady.

I turn 26 this weekend. I don't really have ANY plans to do anything other that what I do normally on weekends. Does this make me lame, or just an old 26?

It's a pure crapshoot (imo) once you strip away the surface thrashings. One hand gives and the other takes away. I lost a friend yesterday. But there is also that other hand. Πάντα ῥεῖ. cn

A lot of it is proximity, but instead of making yourself known, as in being the center of attention, why not get to know others. Here is some of my typical dating advice, but I think it applies to friends as well: You don't have to be interestING, just be interestED. There is a website that I used when I first moved to Florida called meetup. It's made for helping you find others with similar interests. As far as making friends, good ones are few and far between so don't get discouraged. Fun friends are more common and as long as you make them feel appreciated, they will at least seem to enjoy hanging out with you. There has to be a give and take. Give compliments for the heck of it. Seem interested in the things they are interested in, even if it isn't a mutual interest. You don't have to make it your life, but if they are telling you about something they are excited about... listen and mirror their excitement.

This will get you far. Just get out there and put yourself in a place where people have similar interests. Go to a swingers retreat, join a cult, start a book club, etc.

I looked at 5 houses today with out a Realtor sort of a preview. I took my pen vape with me that's nice to use when your driving around. No hot coal to fall off or fumbling around with a pipe. I thought the cartridges were a gram but there a 1/4 gram for $40. Wow that is too much. I can make my own oil to refill them with.
