pretty much all the leaves can be used. obviously the fans give less yield but it is possible to make potent oil with them. I use all my fan leaf oil for edibles but it is definitely smokable. not as tasty. I wouldnt bother with stems for me, it has been a waste of time and effort.

if you dont have enoufh room in the tent for a snall dehumi then you could always get a bigger one and dehumidify the garage and increase air flow through the tent to drop rh.

are you positive you are running the right 1000 in it? check whether or not your ballast has bulb limitations, (I.e. pulse/probe start, vert/horiz/univer burning bulb. a buddy of mine was using a bulb meant for probe start in a pulse start magnetic and it only started about 25% of the time...

dark color in bho can be caused by a lot of different variables. in this case id say it looks like the colour is do to the bud being really old and not kept in something air tight and maybr too high of purging temps.
