still pretty early for a lot of trich development.. some strains are less "frosty" than others. usually the really "frosty" plants start early so that's why you prob seen pics of buds @ 3 weeks with trichomes. Post up a pic!

I honestly wish I could afford to grow in soil still but it gets really expensive. after you dial in nutes and stuff for the hydro and get equip there literally is no overhead except new nutes when you run out.
