Should I do a wet transplant or a dry transplant?

Yep! That's what I find to work for me too! Not too "crumbely dry" or too "heavy, soggy, wet". I don't think it reaaly makes a whole lot of difference; eveybody just does whatever feels right to them.

Yeah, but it's only thirty-five hundred dollars!

    just wondering

I assume you mean that you live in the Northern Hemisphere and are planning on planting seeds outdoors. No, it's not too late. If you live at a Latitude above 30, or so, they wont be ready for harvest till about Halloween or Thankgiving; so you still have plenty of time to grow. Remember...

    Light leakage with grow box

Before you worry about light leakage, maybe you should reconsider your "amount of light"! You say you have about 5,000 lumens - that's good for about 1 sq. ft.. 1 1/2 sq. ft. would be pushing it! Yet you are building a box that is over 6 sq. ft. You're going to need a lot more light, like 6...

    A Little Sceptical About Dyna-Gro!

Thank you, homebrewer, for those links! They, pretty much, took care of any concerns I might have had - although quite informative, they were "a bit" technical in places. This is what I took away from those articles, please feel free to correct me if I misinterperated anything: 1.) Cobalt and...

    A Little Sceptical About Dyna-Gro!

As I said, Chloride is a micronutrient that is recognized as essencial by many government agencies and other authoritative bodies. But the Sodium? That's all you and Dyna-Gro. While I certainely respect your opinion, I have to wonder why virtually no authritative source considers Sodium or...

    just wondering

Indoors, outdoors? What kind of medium/nutes are you using? How much good light do they get? In short, any answer to "How much?" would be pure speculation without all the pertinant details - right through to harvest. Some might argue the point (as rediculouse as that sounds), but I think the two...

    A Little Sceptical About Dyna-Gro!

Dyna-Gro is well known for listing thier "16 Essential Nutrients". They even give an analylitical breakdown (out to 4 decimal places in some cases). What raises my scepticism is that they don't mention that three of the "Sweet Sixteen" - Hydrogen, Oxygen and Carbon - are directly available from...

Noob question regarding Soil. (Using Fox Farm)

To get an accurate Ph reading of what's really going on inside your pots, you simply measure the "Run-off Water". That will give you an indication of the "combined" Ph (soil + water). Then you can use that information to determine what Ph the water should be next time you water, in order to...

    over watering?

One "episode"is not overwatering, that's the same thing that happens, out-doors, when it rains. Overwatering is doing what you did every time you water - and doing it so frequently that the soil never dries out enough to let the roots "breath".

    what's the meaning of 420 and 101 ?

Wrong - the way it really is, is that fools will believe almost anything. They just think they know!

    what's the meaning of 420 and 101 ?

I guess I wasn't the only one that called "Bullshit" on the "420 is police code" post, after I read the rest of the thread I saw a few others had responded too - oh well! At any rate, about the 101 question! For those of you who know nothing about college courses, 101 is just an "add-on" number...

    what's the meaning of 420 and 101 ?

You must be the only person in the world that really believes that, and here you are passing it along as if it were true. Check your facts before you spout off.

    400w hps...

By the way, I'm not knocking Noobies - everybody has to start somewhere. The whole growing experience is a "Learning Curve". I'm sure that some Noobies have great 1st or 2nd grows, that just means they did something right (either by doing thier homework, or just accidentally). That doesn't make...

    Newbies that have nice plants...

Ya got to "Give it up" for the Noobies that really do thier homework and ask good questions. Not the same old, everyday, over and over questions that we (I) get so friggin' tired of! So, "Here, here", "Hell Yea!", and "Oo-rah!"

    Straight up fish oil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would venture a guess that most of the "Lookie-loos" are looking in (like me) for a good chuckle. Fish oil capsules are a great dietary suppliment, in fact, I take 2 every day. They are beneficial, for the most part, because of the relatively high amounts of "Omega-3 Fatty Acids" (whatever the...

    400w hps...

If you are a true expert and do everything right, you can hope for 1 gram/watt, that's just under a pound - about 14 oz. I doubt if you fall in this catagory. If you are a "Fair-to-middlin'" experienced grower, you can expect about half that much, or, .5 gram/watt - about 7 oz. Most growers...

    What happens if...

"Breeding is game unto itself. It entails a whole lot more than just one random crossing. The short answer is, "You'll get whatever you get!". It could be almost anything. The longer answer is, by crossing 4 strains you are creating a whole bunch of "new" phenotypes that would need to be...

    transplanting, rootbounding progressively or instantly?

Look at it this way, what is the logic behind the two alternatives? Opinion 1) Gives a well thought out, tried and true, reason for producing a well formed root ball. Opinion 2) Gives a short-cut that reflects laziness. Will it work? Sure it will. Is it every bit as good? I think not! Lots...
