Looks like you're off to a good start! One suggestion, if you can get a 6500K CFL or two, that would be better for the first week or two. It will help keep your seedling from stretching, form the distance your light has to stay. Very young seedlings often find MH/HPS lights too intense to start...
Thanks for the link. I feel slightly retarded - I wasn't thinking of it in terms of CO2. lol Having said that, I would still be interested in the side by side, if greensister wants to do it.
It was probably a hermie out of the bag, so to speak. But a strong enough light leak could also cause it. Yep, if you are diligent about picking off male flowers, you can still get good bud out of it. If that's all you have, I say grow it out.
Sounds pretty good so far. A couple thoughts...
Yes, contrary to popular belief CFL's do get hot. Hot enough to burn your plants, and hot enough to really raise the temp in your grow room if you're using enough of them. And you are. I veg with CFL's also. Keep the lights within two inches of...
Don't give them any nutes until they reach at least three weeks of age, or begin showing a deficiency - whichever happens first. (Usually three weeks).
I agree, soil would be cheaper/easier for your first grow. I don't know if I would go with MG soil though - it's harder for new growers to work with, much easier to nute burn your plants. If you do buy MG, use very, very low doses of nutes when you begin, until you know what works. Regardless...
You can fit those easy. Depending on the width of your pots (five gallon nursery pots are 12" across, for instance) you could fit up to 12 under there.
It looks pretty good for 18 days old. Plenty of light, although for veg, you should be using 6500K. She looks a bit overwatered - don't water it every day. Water it well (until you see a little runoff) and then let it dry out some - when you don't feel moisture for a couple of inches into the...
Yeah I think you might be right wonderblunder, I was pretty tired when they got watered. Tell you one thing - the White Rhino are doing the worst of all of them. I don't know for sure why. Maybe too finicky a strain to fuck with in the future.
lol - six to eight weeks my ass - these guys are predominantly sativa. I wish they would go that fast. I don't know, honestly, what I'll get - at least a zip per plant, possibly more, would be my guess.
At the moment, four GHS Train Wreck and a Moby Dick, and in a week and a half, my vegging girls will be going in as well (5 GHS White Rhino, 4 GHS White Widow, 1 Sour Cream and 1 LA Woman).
My exhaust is just going into a spare bedroom that I use to dry/cure for now, it'll be my flower room in...
Hey there, thought I'd pull up a chair, if you don't mind? I also have TW going, mine are five and a half weeks into flowering, though. I topped mine for four colas, however, and I'm interested to see how the yields compare between my topped, and your untopped. Some strains really thrive after...
Day 39:
Between week five and six of flowering now. I think Layla is for sure going to be done at eight or nine weeks, but not the TW - that is definately going longer! Kinda bummed a little actually - I had hoped it wouldn't take that long to finish. Oh well - it should be worth it, eh?:eyesmoke:
