I use Scott's soil as well, and MG All Purpose Plant Food (liquid, in the yellow bottle) at one tsp per gallon for veg, along with Superthrive and molassas - no problems with that yet.

After harvest I pull the main stem/root ball out of the soil, and it gets burned. The soil I just use to fill in holes around my house/yard.

Sounds about right. Be careful about digging around in there, though, they are very delicate at that age - easy to damage.

They don't require light until they break the surface, but it won't hurt them, either. Totally up to you.;-)

They appear overwatered, as well as stretching from having too little light, too far away. That wattage of CFL should be kept within an inch to two inches from the plant. You're definately going to need more light!

It depends on the strain you're growing, your lighting, and the age of the plant. I veg mine for eight weeks, and usually see sex on all plants around five days into flower. It can take longer, however - if the plant isn't sexually mature when it goes into flower, it will continue vegging, until...

Yep, remove the dome when the seedlings first break the surface. Leaving the humidity too high after this point can actually cause your seedling to rot.

It's a great story, with a good life lesson - about how wrong things can go when you don't put in the work, and try to do things the easy way, instead. One I think a lot of the younger generation missed, lol.
