It varies a bit from light to light. Put your hand right above the plants - if it burns your hand within 30 seconds, move it up some. You want the light to feel warm on your hand but not uncomfortable.

I've never used them, but I have read others who have successfully used them. I've also read they can be harmful, because your roots never really get a chance to dry out, and that can cause root rot. Think I would lean towards watering them myself.:leaf:

The best time to water is at lights on. Can't answer the guano question, but I add my nutes when I water, but only once a week - after the plants are three weeks old.:leaf:
