You can have plenty of vertical space to grow monsters, but still be limited as far as floor space goes.;-)

You shouldn't use those plant food sticks with mary jane - she doesn't like it. That's your problem right there.

Your plants are looking better. I know how tough it is to grow on a budget, it isn't easy. The last thing I would add, is when you transplant your babies, bury them to an inch below the first set of leaves - that will take care of the stretching that already happened.:leaf:

You don't have to germinate the seeds first. I do it, because I want to know that the seed I planted is good - but it isn't required. Go ahead and stick it in the soil if you like - but not too deep, about a quarter to half an inch. You should see like within 4-5 days. It helps, if you put...

Even more reason to make sure you can move them - those lights should be kept within a couple inches from your plants, always. Unless the lights are actually touching your plants, that isn't what's causing the burning.:peace:

I can help you there. Home Depot has these white, metal racks that work perfect for making your CFL rack (I made mine, pics included). The four ft one costs like five bucks, I think. Any socket will do - if you have old lamps, great - if not, you can get them cheap as well at any home...

It kinda looks like a male, but I would wait and see for sure. You have time. The pollen sacs have to mature before they can get your girls in the family way. If you start to see clusters though, you know for sure.

CFL's will still keep your energy usage low, and you'll be happier. Currently I run: 2 x 324w CFL racks 2 x 400w HPS 2 x 8" inline fans 2 x 6" inline fans 2 x tower fans 1 x oscillating fan 2 x light timers ...and all this has only increased my light bill by around $50 a month. Hope this eases...

The plants need fresh air. Do you have a fan in there? That will help them grow strong stems. You'll have to figure out something for your light, because you have to be able to move it, to keep it the proper distance from the plants. They grow upwards - if you can't move it they'll burn.
