Recycled Organic Living Soil (ROLS) and No Till Thread

I have a whole house filter with a kdf85 filter so I can run water straight from any tap. I am coming to the conclusion though that it is really unnecessary if you use humic acid or compost or ewc because the humic acid in all of these will neutralize the chlorine/chloramine. I think its...

Now that I look at it again I think its a type of aquarium gravel of coral and shell fragments which is why you only have a 5 gallon pail of it. Should house bacteria well and add calcium.

Looks like sea shells and possibly something like coral that has degraded over time from water erosion. If so it would probably work great.

    native soil good enough?

Native soil is fine for a portion of your soil you will get local beneficial microbes from it. Also maybe grab some leaf mold ( decomposing leaves) to add to the mix < I would substitute that for the vermiculite and water crystals. Add some compost, rock dusts like Glacial rock dust for...

    Thrips

They seem to come here every spring from what I have heard. Spinosad will get rid of them, Also look into neem cake to add to your soil it should boost your plants defenses to most problematic bugs and won't leave the neem flavor behind like neem oil will.

    Waay cool jury nullification

I remember a story of guy giving out pamphlets about jury nullification to potential jurors. I think more people should be doing it, hit everybody up like once a month like Bed, Bath and Beyond and we would see this happening a lot more.

Soil Food Web Gardening with Compost Teas

Chlorine will dissipate fairly fast, chloramine will not, BUT if you use worm castings or compost in your tea then they most likely have humic acid in them. Since humic acid neutralizes chloramine I coming to believe that it is a moot point. Also ascorbic acid ( vitamin C ) neutralizes...

So who here is growing in true organic living soil?

Yeah I think I did the same thing. So after the 24 hr soak wait for them to sprout then add them to the 1/2 gallon or should they have sprouted already or are they supposed to sprout in the 48 hr water?

So who here is growing in true organic living soil?

When you say sprouts do you mean once they sprout add them to the 1/2 gallon of water or right after 24hr soak?

So who here is growing in true organic living soil?

If you can't find that stuff look at local rock dusts and local clays. And the hydro company should be able to order you the glacial rock dust to their store so it shouldnt cost you to ship. I know I have to special order mine and its like 40$ for a 50 lb bag.

Its built into the house old school style, made of brick and concrete. Lots of Michigan homes have them. I will probably re concrete the interior then line it with pond liner. So yes I will eventually otherwise its just a huge waste of space in my basement. I am going to try and setup water...

Why ACT is mainly used only in the Cannabis world?

If my soil is already full of plant ready nutes why do I need to add more? More is NOT always better. I have done ACT's Every watering for months before and no noticeable difference then now when I use maybe once every 4-6 weeks. If you are adding stuff to a plant that it doesn't need or use how...

A lot of greenhouses do their composting in the greenhouses to raise the temp in the winter and to add supplemental CO2.
