What to do? Small grow area

baking is one way of dealing with pests, not the only way, commercial greenhouses use this method(or steaming) to control pests when i say bake, it's a very light bake, 200F isn't enough to boil water soil is a living thing, baking it hard will kill it, and that's not so nice for growing when...

Seeking nearly pure Sativa seeds. Seedbank/Breeder rec, or trade.

you don't see too much for sativa grows here on riu, there are some, but more in the haze type of direction there are other sites that have more dramatic sativa grows, but i'll respect the forum rules in regards to external grow site links i will mention there are a few Nirvana sativa's(el...

What to do? Small grow area

you could try outdoor soil, a compost heap would be ideal, but that's probably not likely pest come in with outdoor soil, i bake soil at 200 degrees F in an oven for an hour or so, called pasteurizing as opposed to sterlizing

    20-40 year old seeds

not sure what high nitrate will do, i'd guess it would cook a seed, gentle is what you need there are a couple of methods i've seen, never had old seeds to try though one is a bit of bleach to the sprouting water, not much, idea i think is to inhibit any bacteria that could do in a weak seedling...

Seeking nearly pure Sativa seeds. Seedbank/Breeder rec, or trade.

i don't have much recent sativa experience, but did sativa grows in the '70s, that's all there was for bag seed so i do know the look of mexican/columbian sativas so i've seen grow logs of some of these heirloom sativa genetics that were out crossed with some indica, and whatever else the...

    Screw the good ol' day's....

this argument will go on forever, funny as i see a few of the older posters here have mixed opinions so there's no way a younger grower is going to be clear on this issue what you have today is indica/indica hybrids, and yes, there has been some power added, indica power the old weed was sativa...

What to do? Small grow area

after 7 days in the soil and no show/grow, i'd take a peek and see what's going on, but i have seen some slower sprouters than that genetics are an issue here, some strains do not sprout fast, slow starters can end up being very good plants

What to do? Small grow area

hmm, i've always covered completely with dirt, but not too deep, 1/8 of an inch covering or so but i see the idea of just putting the sprouting tip in, it's just not a method i've used

What to do? Small grow area

some seeds can be sneaky, they may have seemed to have died, but are just taking their time carefully brush away the upper dirt from the seed location if you remember it, i mark my seeds with toothpicks so i can find them easily if needed it may be struggling to shed the seed covering, which can...

    Outside Flowering

maybe, i use to think about this way back when sativa's ruled the land but if you have a strong wind, that bagged plant may not make it i have seem someone mention that used a plastic garbage can to cover a plant with, weighed it down with bricks much easier if in your backyard, not so fun if...

Cfl closet grow sativa *poor man*

didn't mean to offend, it's a guess, and that was just for the 1st plant pic because it gave a fairly clear picture sativa buds just don't weigh that much, they don't have the density that indica/hybrids have hoping for the best result, 2+ zips of trimmed bud would be great

from what i see in the 1st pic with the whole plant, you should do ok, 2 more weeks and i'll guess 5-7 grams of bud anyone that grows sativa's indoors usually bitches about the weight they get, they're kind of a luxury

F2 is would be from 2 ww parents, i think that is what Bud Depot has, racerboy mentioned ww x ww, which should be F2's how close? you'll have to wager your $60 to find out, all seeds are a risk, but the price is reasonable the S1 is self pollinating a nice ww by making it throw hermie pollen by...
