    Watering with mother nature....

I'm in NC too. Growing 5 plants in 5 gallon buckets too. You better get started. I started my seeds in April, and my plants are between 4 and 5 ft tall now. Don't mean to be a buzz kill, but you are most definitely going to have to water the plants.. I know how much water I've hauled already...

    Watering with mother nature....

Well first of all, if you use 5 gallon buckets, you will need to drill holes in the bottom so water drains out, because if you don't if you get a big rain they will drown. And I can speak from current personal experience, once the plants get some size they will suck the water up in a 5 gallon...

    Lollipoping Pros and Cons

Yeah, I searched old Beaner, and he's got a lot of posts, but not much to say. Sad story about how his whole crop was wiped out, wah wah wah. I got it from a post I read, a guy who had been growing for 30 years and always lollipopped. Makes sense to me. I'm growing outdoors in 5 gallon...

Kaya Gold 5 gallon bucket outdoor grow.

Well the sun has come out with a vengence. It's been in the mid 90's last 3 days. It's supposed to drop back to the low to mid 80's next week and be sunny. You really have to wate a lot in 5 gallon containers when it's that hot. Gave them a second feeding on June 4th 7 days after the first...

    Kaya Gold

Started feeding, I think the fertilizer in the potting soil has played out. These pics are a week after feeding. The sun has come out with a vengence. It's been in the mid 90's the last 3 days. You really have to water a lot in 5 gallon containers.

    Lollipoping Pros and Cons

I've got 5 plants growing in 5 gallon buckets. I read one post on here were the guys said he always Lollipoped his plants, removed about 30% of the lower growth, shoots and leaves. Channels more energy to the tops. Anyone have opinions? It makes sense to me particularly in my situation were I'm...

Kaya Gold 5 gallon bucket outdoor grow.

Thanks man. We've had some crazy cloudy weather, I think they would look even better if we could get a week of straight sunshine. They can get pretty big in 5 gallon containers, you should probably top, or LST or something.

Will having 9 day old plants in darkness for 3-4 hours kill them?

Better to start each individual seed in a seperate container. Use 16 oz beer cups, if you are in college I'm sure they are available. Leave your soil down about an 1-1/2 to 2" below the top of the cup. Put your seed on top of the soil center of the cup. Use your finger and press down into the...

Kaya Gold 5 gallon bucket outdoor grow.

Ok, fast forward. I gave them some miracle grow all purpose plant food on May 29th. Like I said, they have grown so fast, I think they used up all of the food that was in the soild. The miracle grow is 28-8-16. It takes about 8 gallons of water to get these 5 five gallon buckets good and wet...

Kaya Gold 5 gallon bucket outdoor grow.

Ok, I wasn't planning to do a full fledge grow journal, but things are going pretty well, so I changed my mind. I posted some of these pics in Newbie Central last week, so if you've already seen sorry. I got 5 feminized Kaya Gold seeds from Nirvana, and I started in 16oz stadium cups on April...

Normal Pre-flowers or are they flowering?

It's been unusually cloudy since I started my grow. We are at about 14.5 hours of daylight now. Can cloudy weather make plants flower early? I can't get any better focus on the camera, so I don't know if anyone can help, but take a look and let me know if you think these look like normal...

So...I have this filing cabinet// First grow

You can get just a plain power strip, surge protector whatever. You know, it's just a strip with 5 or six outlets. You can get these plug in light sockets at Walmart for about $1.50 each, that you can just plug into the strip and then the CFL's just screw into. I have this set up in a filing...

is 8 hrs of direct sun enuff?

You got plenty of light, and like somebody said, you can grow a tree in 20 gallons. I'm growing in 5 gallons, and one guy on here got a pound from a 5 gallon pot, although I think this was a perfect grow. I'll be happy with a 1/4 lb per plant.
