I understand stoned, I can't understand not using the correct spelling when it's the same number of letters. I'll go read an adult thread but thanks for the entertainment.

Need serious help Bug species in soil, not sure what type of insect it exactly is

Cool, that's just one common form of thrip it's probably fungus gnat as previously suggested though in the larva & pupa stages they look more like a worm then mature into what looks like a small mosquito.

Right then, micro and stealth growers.. Who has put a 400w HPS in the smallest space?

Yup. Don't look at the sawdust I've cleaned it since then.

Right then, micro and stealth growers.. Who has put a 400w HPS in the smallest space?

I have a 400W in a 2' x 3' cabinet. I use a 6" cooltube isolated from room ventilation, temps average in the mid-80s except in the heat of summer then I use a small cooler I built to bring the temp down. This pic is a 400W MH, I have a 400W HPS in there currently. The weird looking thing on top...

Full tilt med SCROG. blue w, mango cush, jack herrer. Ebb/flow, co2, botanicare

Wouldn't worry much about mites, they like a lower humidity - usually below 60% I would keep an eye out for gray & white molds, I think your temps are out of the ideal range for pythium - 60-78 degrees F but about perfect for white mold. As much as you tend them I doubt it would get past you but...

alfoiled walls go or no go?

You need some insulation to stop detection via IR, foil will just heat more evenly and produce a bigger sig. Try to setup near a natural heat source such as a water heater or furnace or maybe a barn; new hay, compost, cows & horses all produce heat that could help shield your grow. All that said...

alfoiled walls go or no go?

Hey guys, the question was "can I use this aluminum foil I have cuz' I don't want to spring for panda film?" I'd recommend flat white paint before foil but it's better than bare walls imho. I like Ed Rosenthal's and Greg Green's books, Jorge is kinda hokey and a little outdated but there's...

alfoiled walls go or no go?

LOL - one of many books, I don't agree with all his crap either but this is just testing different surfaces with a light meter, I think even he could pull that off ;)

how to keep light out of a flowering chamber

Pipe the air through with a couple of black 90 degree pipe elbows to act as a light trap. Alternatively make a small box open on the back and one end then attach it to the wall over the vent holes finally stuff a/c filter material into the remaining open end. Basically just make bends, light...

alfoiled walls go or no go?

While aluminum foil is not the best surface it's certainly better than bare walls. A good flat white paint is a little better in terms of reflectivity but not as good as say Mylar. It's possible to get hot spots with foil if the light is very large but I've never seen a 400W create any kind of...

    Paint Question

Behr Premium Ultra White is supposed to be pretty good as I understand it since "white" is sort of subjective in terms of actual color. Do a quick search on the forums, I've seen some fairly in-depth discussions on here.

    Free Grow Software!

Awesome software and I don't misplace it like my old paper calendar ;) Sure you have a list of feature requests as long as your arm, I looked at your preview of 4.0 and it may be in there already but the ability to add pics to events would be handy for problem tracking. Let me know when you have...

    Cheap Walls For Basement Rooms?

Right, OSB is "oriented strand board" it's a manufactured sheathing like plywood, particle board, MDF (medium density fiberboard) etc. I've also used foam insulating sheathing for partitions, it's a closed cell poly foam with foil on one (or both) sides sold in 4' x 8' sheets.

    Cheap Walls For Basement Rooms?

@dadio161 - 7/16" OSB was under $8 a few weeks ago at Lowe's, my cabinet is built from it.
