depends on what you are trying to accomplish, topping is usually always a good idea, if done correctly and at the right time. if you go ahead and lst, do it gradually and increase over time.

you can safely leave your crop in 24hr dark for a few days, i`ve done it a few time. but just get the light asap. but as long as it isen`t more then a few day i wouldent worry

i grow sour diesel a few times, it does have a very very strong smell of somewhat diesel. very good strain. but its highly unlikely you would end up getting some sour d with bagseed.

spray the whole plant, including under the leaves. and i usually wait 1-4 hours after i spray rinse. and as far as flowing time goes, like nthe other dude said depends on strain, my crops usually flower in 6-8 weeks, but just check the trichs to really tell when their done, or what i use to do...

Hard to tell specific strains, so many strains look the same. The only thing you could probilly spot accurately is if it's indica or sativa, obviously.
