The simplest way is to start in soil let the roots get set and transplant into coco. You won't have to worry about feeding while in the soil cup. I've done this for yrs and have seen no ill effects.

Yes hempy is passive hydro. Nizza's link described Jacks usage really well. The regular is recommended for soil and soilless. With hempy we are growing in a soilless medium. The hydro mix is recommended for environments where the roots are in nothing but water, nft, dwc, areo, bubble, etc...

I've used Jacks 20-20-20 in a hempy yrs back. It works fine. I used it in veg and through flower. It's a 1-1-1 ratio same as the Lucas regime. Jacks hydro formula is recommended if using no medium at all.

Well if your in coco/perlite mix you will need to give them some food. The superthrive is ok but they need a little npk. Un-less this mix has some food in it. Need to know the age for better advice.
