how much different are 10W LEDS ?

Point it at a wall in a dark room, see what the spread of the light is and adjust from there. What form of cooling have you provided for these multichips?

how much different are 10W LEDS ?

Something like this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/wdm-1x-Glass-LENS-Collimator-reflector-with-Aluminum-Holder-10-150w-Leds-DIY-/171081649681?pt=US_Night_Lights&var=&hash=item27d542ce11 I recommend using only the reflector, and only if you need to. I haven't made up my mind about these thick glass...

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

Yeah, it's been fun. I enjoy the time I spend with my plants. Every night at ~10:00 I'm in my flower tent pretty much at lights on to check the girls out. I look forward to it. I think I might get rid of the yeast jug and hook up the draft inducer motor I pulled from an old furnace. It's...

Idk, I see where both you guys are coming from. GPW measurement is much easier on tall plants which have potentially longer veg times than SoG or something. kWh might be the ideal measurement.

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

Same White Balance setting as the pics I just took in my veg room, RP spotlight only: RP Spotlight only (except pic 4 >.<), new WB setting. LST'ed the tied up branch. Over N showing on some new leaves still, perhaps it'll take another watering before they fully react, Idk. The LST'ed plant...

    Do I need a better/secndary heatsink? 40x1w on a PCB

Wouldn't it be cool if Merry carried those high CRI Warm White LED's from Yuji? I think we should pressure her into buying a batch as soon as Yuji starts selling them, I know I'd buy a couple more panels from her if she did. Btw, if anyone's interested, the 36 x 1W mcpcb by Merry is the biggest...

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

I transplanted two clones into a 60-40 mixture of Roots Organic and compost. There's a clone in the ziplock bag and two more in the bubble cloner. The three girls chilling outside will be the second wave in my flower tent. All three were watered with the tea and got the same foliar treatment as...

    57w Custom Multichip/COB Grow

If you don't mind me asking, who makes your multichips and about what do they charge?

    Dream diodes.... what are they?

I think a multichip made with 40 of Soraa's GaN on GaN Violet chips + 2700k phosphor, all running at ~400W (~10W per chip) is surprisingly feasible. I wonder how close you could pack the chips, but it should be smaller than an average HPS reflector, the chips can run hot. Heck, I think I've seen...

    Do I need a better/secndary heatsink? 40x1w on a PCB

I like the second link. 20x20 could also work, imo. The 1W'ers really don't need too much attention, imo. I saw picks of Ganja running a 24 x 1W mcpcb with no form of cooling whatsoever and he said it was perfectly fine. If you're not worried about the durability of the mcpcb then any type of...

    Do I need a better/secndary heatsink? 40x1w on a PCB

Those are pretty much exactly the same heat sinks as the ones I put on my baking pans. You might want to attach the PCB to the tupperware container at a couple more than 4 locations.

    Do I need a better/secndary heatsink? 40x1w on a PCB

You could hang it by the pan, and if you really wanted you could attach a few heat sinks on...

Ditching my HID, but is this LED good for this tent?

You'd probably want about twice as much light. Good rule of thumb, 40-60W/square foot. You can do more or less, it's up to you and you might even get good results depending on the efficiency of the system, but I'm also guessing that that Blackstar isn't 135W at the plug.

    Dream diodes.... what are they?

GaN-on-GaN http://www.soraa.com/news/ctoblog-april-30-2013 http://www.soraa.com/technology/gan-on-gan The Violet chips produced by this company look/sound fantastic. Pretty sure they have guys on their team that worked for Bruidgelux and Lumileds. They won't sell the LED's as a standalone...

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

That's my compost as of now. I'd say 70% is like a week old (mulched scraps from out door garden), the other 30% was dried leaves/trim and other compost materials from a bag that I've been working on. Probably gonna mix this stuff in with the Roots Organic for my next wave. There's quite a bit...

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

Yeah, I just made a tea out of some compost, some green sand with the kelp, epsom salt, inoculant powder, worm castings, and maple syrup (I don't have any molasses yet). Within hours there were bubbles up to the lid of the bubble cloner. I placed the cup on top of a 50W and 20W driver which kept...

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

Alright. I'll see how they react to last night's feeding and go from there. Possibly sprinkle some green sand on their soil as the kelp, possibly add some epsom salt and azomite to their water. This seems rather similar to what I did last harvest (difference being bat guano (high P), blood meal...

High Humidity At Night - DIY (Do It Yourself) Solution?

The little calcium chloride dehumidifier is in the corner. Just took apart a really old laptop cooling pad for the fans, then epoxy puttied them onto the lid. It's absorbing a lot of moisture, but RH is still about 85% at night. Last harvest finished and there were no signs of mold. I added some...

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

The green sand I bought actually has Kelp extract in it. It was pretty cheap off eBay, and actually the bag ripped on their first shipment so they sent me another for free. I've got a big ass bag of the stuff now. It seems mild, but I kinda like that, and slow release potassium in my dirt...

Vornado Flippi - Viable circulatory fan for small tent?

Yeah, that's what I did. All these fans were on clearance at Target (and I'm sure other stores). NOW is the time for everyone to buy fans if they need one and if stores near them still have any left in stock. Not sure if that honeywell would fit my tent well, I'm strapped for space which is why...
