Variation on the "when can I sample?" question....But a smart one this time...

i think I caused all the hairs on one of my autos to prematurely redden from over fanning, as well. Also defol.ed the crap out of her, and high temps during day. Saw yesterday what seemed to be early onset botrytis so cut the bad branches and may just take the rest today and hash it. I did just...

I knew what you meant. I compost mine or tuck’em back in the soil if just a few. I like to reuse it and just add some amendments like compost, so doing so just gives it a head start. Haven’t had a problem with bad bugs. Edit: But then, that’s for soil growing.

    Everytime a long-term grower insults a newb...

...who is just asking questions I’m reminded of this line from Deltron 3030- “...they wouldn't teach you algebra when you was eight Now yer forty eight and you hate children Forgot where you came from Now yer straight illin Don't fight the feelin You better deal with it.” Mind your roots; we all...

    How long auto blooms?

I would say at least a full 8 weeks from Start of BLOOM... When companies give you those “8week” charts or tell you “Flowers in 8 weeks” I think this is usually what they mean? What strain? I’m new to autos but have a couple Banana Kush, at just about 8 weeks since pistils popped up. Here, but...

    What did you accomplish today?

My gf and I lived in Sac for a couple years. Back in my hometown, now. May have seen you here on the coast when it was hot inland... ;) I know, I get a little excited when everyone here is talking about chick season, and I got very excited last year when 7 hatched au naturale here (2 died...

How far from harvest is this?

Definitely longer. I have my first couple autos- Banana Kush- and had set a date on calendar when they “should” be done (according to supplier). I did also give them each one bend, early on, to slow them, which helped a lot more than I expected. Been in flower since about Feb.15th, sprouted on...

    What did you accomplish today?

Nothing yet. Still early. Going to transplant my tomatoes, and try not to go T-rex on the chickens for getting into my enclosed area and eating all the leaves off the last ones. Good morning from NorCal!

Variation on the "when can I sample?" question....But a smart one this time...

The fan leaves even de-carboxylated, and simmered in oil or hashed would most likely have such faint thc percentage that the dilution from the other ingredients would require you to ingest enough to not make what little high you get worth it. But, they do have vitamins available by simply...

    Plants having burned leaves

I’m somewhat novice with the nute issues but seeing as a lot of nutes are salts and salts have a drying (desiccating) effect, maybe the burned one needs more plain water, or some light acidification (lower pH) of its soil to help dissolve the nute-salts and then flush, if possible. @Star Dog...

    Question about seeds

I’ve not had great luck with the towel method. But good luck! place somewhere warm like on or near water heater. Keep moist but don’t drown. Keep dark or dimly lit.

    2 questions about watering.

Are you trying to do organic? The wood chips and chunky stuff is part of the soil. As it breaks down it feeds the microorganisms that are probably the most important aspect of soil. With good soil(good microbes and nutrient rich material) you don’t have to feed as much (less money!) and your...

    2 questions about watering.

As many people will tell you and I’m learning more about personally- Mind your roots! Also, I find, if you can get some coco-fiber to mix in to your soil, the better (up to 40ish%?) even if you have to water more. Or perlite.

    Simply Seeking KnOwLeDGE

I grew a couple for first time. I bent them on the stalk (full 90 degrees) early on to slow them. Worked great- they are at 12 weeks old with still a couple weeks (I think) on the #1(the big cola, single-headed) and probably at least 3 - 4 on #2(she lost her head early on but recovered and...

    Here’s a thought

Plants in soil with heavy clay and/or peat. It ends up retaining and the roots can rot by the time it dries out. People will say- well don’t plant in such soil, but a lot of people wouldn’t know better and their plants might not survive a transplant.

    2 questions about watering.

How much to water partially depends on your medium. Water-to-runoff is only good if you have really well draining soil. Too much clay or peat and it’s just going to hold so long the roots rot. I like having about 20% fresh coco coir in my soil, but it also originally had some, plus pumice...
