Why avoid autoflowers when learning to grow?

That depends on the grow, the strains involved, the grower, the size of the plants, etc. Autos finish a lot quicker at Snoopy's crib. OTOH, you can get a photoperiod plant finish quicker than an auto.

    Ppm question

New growers almost always overwater and overfertilize. They never prune enough. It's hard to hack away at a plant that you want to grow - seems counter intuitive. Good luck and happy trails.

    Potassium deficiency?

Temps? I'd say heat and/or Potassium. Phosphorus tends to look more splotchy. The small brown spots are probably calcium deficiency. The problem with a deficiency is what caused it? Not enough K in your nutes? Lockout from too much of something else? PH too high or low. If you're...

Why avoid autoflowers when learning to grow?

Autoflower is a double edged sword. If something goes wrong, you don't have time to fix it. OTOH, the quicker you get from seed/clone to finished product, the less time there is for something to go wrong. A nice in between approach is just grow lots of small plants - flip them when the hit...

    Ppm question

In my experience, he'll be fine with little to no nutes in Happy Frog for a bit. Maybe a foliar spray. May have some iron deficiency, but I wouldn't worry about that yet. I don't see N-Toxicity or deficiency. Soil and plants in general can do what we're seeing here - where he seems to have...

    Ppm question

I wouldn't sweat the nutes too much, it's soil with nutes in it already. I'd let the soil dry out. I would probably hit them with a foliar spray to correct any deficiencies. Take a look at pic #4. It looks like you may have spider mite damage down by the petiole. Small yellow spots on the...

    Ppm question

I think you may introducing deficiencies by flushing (aka really over watering). Take a look at pic #4, I think I see spider mite damage.

Promix hp users, I'd appreciate your input and advice.

I add lime at each transplant. The only real problem I've had is if I top dress with the Espoma, then it kinda cakes up the top and makes watering a PITA sometimes. If you mix it into the soil, you'll be good.

Help please - Are cold temps the reason for new growth going purple?

The cold will bring out the purple in the plant.

    Help - sick plant

I'd guess over fertilizing. Try plain water every other day or every third day. Maybe throw some Recharge, Great White or other beneficials in the soil to help break down any salts. Water until run off and PH the run off.

Promix hp users, I'd appreciate your input and advice.

It adds CalMg as it breaks down. It's been my experience ProMix looses it's buffering in early bloom. I've had the same experience with Coco based mediums too. YMMV.

    Drying under lights

As you can tell, you can cure under lights and it'll be fine. OTOH, if he cured properly, he'd probably get a 10 out of 10.
