You get very good air to water ratio using hydroton, that's one of the main advantage plus they are re-usable too.. You can use just hydroton on their own or mix them with rockwool, coco or soil, they are very versatile.

Yeah I've been to the dam twice my friend, I wasn't blown away by the weed by any means it was on the same par as the stuff I get & grow here. Maybe you get some nasty shwag where you live.. I did try Jack Herer there in The Grasshopper for the first time & that was awesome.
