I was referring to the mother plant actually. She had 9 leaves for a full year before I put her under very poor lighting... That's when the leaves started doing this. "None of these replies here are correct." I guess that includes yours too....

400 would have been better but the heat may have made that impractical anyway. How close to the light depends on the heat. If your plants are big enough to take HID lighting, they should be fine as close as possible. MEANING - I just put my hand under the light and wherever it feels comfortable...

When my plants don't get enough light, this is EXACTLY what happens to them. Maybe conepuller2299 seems to be right about the stress level causing this... and maybe its particularly light...? How's your lighting?

I don't know much about outdoor growing but I think full sun is too much for seedlings... and at 5 weeks they should be a WHOLE LOT BIGGER (look at my grows for ref). I have no idea what is going on... sorry
