Irish you should totally get some light movers and use them. I really want to see how well they can handle it, because this is how I think shops could mass produce their own without spending twice as much on fixed lights.

GLH says their white diodes put out 3 wavelengths, a red, blue, and green if I remember correctly. Although the results from the "Light Lab" are coming back and I guess the specifics of the white wavelengths changed (gotta wait for site to update soon :( )

That think should only use 270-280w max, I don't think it would make enough heat in a garage on its own to warrant air conditioning, it would barely add any heat at all in such a large space, you would never notice it if its already so hot.

Yeah they each have their pros and cons. I prefer the airpots because they will last a lot longer, and I can more easily poke things or tie them into the holes for LST and SCROG and such. I haven't seen how airpots actually compare side to side with the smart pots, do you guys have an links...

That about sums it up. LED tech makes bigs leaps each year and is far better now in mid 2011 than even 1 or 2 years ago. But people have been buying crappy panels still, and most companies haven't been updating their products until this year. There will be a lot less doubt of LED from now on...

You'd need at least 2 LED lights for vert to work (somewhat back to back), as LED only puts light out one way (where as an HPS bulb is in every direction). This is a limitation and a strength of LED, more focused light in a targeted area.
