    First DWC Grow...Issues

Your water is a bit warm for sure, try to keep it at about 18c/64f max. But also as above, pics of your set-up will help, and what nutes you are using - some can stain the roots.

    Can anyone diagnose this?

After having bother with more expensive bluelab stuff, I got one of these, its really good, PH, temp and EC, you dont need to keep it wet and it has a replacable electrode. https://www.growell.co.uk/products/aqua-master-tools-combo-pen-p110-pro-ec-ph-temperature

Questions about ppm in liquid fertilizer and final nutrient solution measurements

Yeah That's an intersting question, I've always gone with EC for simplicity, as there are several ways of measuring PPM. I'm kinda on the fence as to whats best, but I'm just gonna stick with what I'm accustomed to for now!

Questions about ppm in liquid fertilizer and final nutrient solution measurements

Yeah, just goes to show it depends on your individual environmental circumstances, theres no 'one size fits all'. I got some crispy fried smaller sun leafs late on, but I'm reasonably sure that was down to overcooking the nute concentration, possibly also I ran out of verticle height so the may...

Questions about ppm in liquid fertilizer and final nutrient solution measurements

Totally...you have to measure EC, rather than put X amount of nute in X amount of water and hoping for the best.

Questions about ppm in liquid fertilizer and final nutrient solution measurements

I've found EC of about 0.5-0.8 for 'teenage' plants, slowly raising up to about a peak of 2.0 in through late Veg to mid bloom, maybe 2.3 at the extreme, but then tapering that back down in late flower to about 1.3 - 1.5 works well, which is roughly inline with the guidence on my particular...

Just saying hello and getting too know new ppl

it's not really a cost thing for me with nutes, Im in the EU and I guess most of you are in US/CA, But I did my whole grow about the same with a soft water nute, grow A&B, bloom A&B came to about the same price in £/€/$. The cool thing is I have very soft tap water, EC 0/0.1, PH 7/7.5 so the...

    Should Ph remain mostly constant?

Cool, If it aint broke, dont fix it.. I'd be really interested to see how you progress. As I understand, EC is just another way of measuring nute concentration in the water, but there are 2 different ways (scales of measurement) of measuring PPM, so I just went with EC for simplicity.

First DWC. Seedling is/was looking healthy but one cotyledon folded

But as you can see there's some necrosis/disease on the brown/black parts of the roots, it doesn't matter now as I've chopped them down, but once you get rot, you'll be fighting it the whole grow.

First DWC. Seedling is/was looking healthy but one cotyledon folded

By container, I think they are talking about the rez, as in dwc the plants are sat in the same rez. For example I did my DWC in a 120L rez, 3 plants total, 2 the same and one differnt strain. It wasn't a show stopper, but it added some complications in terms of feed and PH concentration as you...

    Should Ph remain mostly constant?

Yeah I guess it depends on your personal environment, from what I've learned, keeping the whole shebang within 'accepatable range' is they key thing, as opposed to try to keep X at value Y, And A at value B. Although If you have total control over all variables at all times, that poses its own...

    Should Ph remain mostly constant?

What they said above, but also consider when you add more nutes it will lower PH too (as well as raising EC), so you don't really wanna be adding a specific PH down product unless PH is still way too high after a fresh feeding. I'm not sure how this new high tech stuff works, but if possible...

First DWC. Seedling is/was looking healthy but one cotyledon folded

You don't. 1 plant per net pot. I mean you could in theory, but once they grow a bit they will be fighting each other for space and will become a nightmare to manage as all the roots will be intertwined and you won't be able to seperate them.

Just saying hello and getting too know new ppl

Yup, even with DWC it's important to not overthink things and not take drastic action as you'll end up 'killing them with kindness' as they say. Pic 1 - Dutch passion c-vibes Pic 2 - Dutch passion CBD skunk/haze hybrid

Just saying hello and getting too know new ppl

Yeah.. 'dial it in' is probably the wrong way to say it, you realy want to fluctuate within an acceptable range, so ideally when you add more nutes it will bring your PH down, then let ph rise, the plants will be drinking so just adding water will do that untill ph gets to high, by which time EC...

Just saying hello and getting too know new ppl

Also this! you don't need to change your rez if you got things dialled in, aside from switching from veg fert to bloom fert. Its a bit of a balancing act but adding fert will bring PH down, and raise EC/ppm, you can just add plain water to bring ph closer to neutral and lower EC/ppm. In an...
