    New RDWC Build, Opinions

I've used ebb and flow fittings (cheap bulkheads) and 3/4" hose on buckets before, probably not enough flow though for what your doing. Uniseals are cheap, and can work, but I don't like them indoors. If you want small try to find bulkheads and square buckets...

    New RDWC Build, Opinions

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Homz-27-Gallon-Tough-Tote-Black-Yellow-Set-of-4/21119248 Some of the hdx that home depot sells are pretty weak, but I think they used to have thicker ones........ Having said that, the 27 gallons are overkill for most if your doing RDWC, unless you plan on growing...

    How to hardwire a MLC?

Im pretty sure it doesn't have a spot for neutral, only ground. The neutral alternates between phases on the two hot wires. The wire is ok, just has to be taped. I kind of agree, I don't think he will be tripping breakers, but if he is running 8 1ks it will pull a little bit more than 8160...

Wiring Help! Old grow room/set up found in house.

I'm assuming the guy who ran the wiring, did the drywall? Looks pretty bad. It doesn't take much money to do it the right way, as stated above. - Jiji

Hanging filter- are these bungees safe?

I wouldn't even if you have room. I did this, and all it takes is a bud to brush up against it, and it picks up white fibers from the filter sock. First noticed this on getting some bud tested and found white fibers on it. - Jiji

    How to hardwire a MLC?

Be careful. 40 amp isn't enough for say 8-1000 lamps. Also black is hot. I've never seen that box, but I'm assuming its a 3 wire setup. Black would then be hot, as well with white, then bare wire would be ground. In the box and in the electrical panel, the white wire is supposed to be taped with...

    Light movers, worth it?

I currently use one in veg, but wouldn't recommend it. It overcomplicates things. For flowering IMHO they are completely worthless. The only way they can really help, is if your setup is way off. Such as low ceiling height. Try to stray away from anecdotal evidence. Proof is in the pudding...

Bulkheads ..do we need to add a little silicone?

I never have. If it doesn't leak initially, and there's no stress such as bumping or moving it then it should never leak. Ask the manufacturer of the bulkheads, I'll bet they will say not to add anything. - Jiji

2 plants, 6 and half potatoes RDWC

Thanks Alaric, means a lot coming from someone with as much experience as you. I'd guess you could veg them that size in that time. I vegged for longer, not sure how long as I really didn't pay attention, but they were really tiny in the corner getting almost no light (until I moved them into...

2 plants, 6 and half potatoes RDWC

Its a risk/reward thing. What I'm trying to say the risk is really low, when you're doing it right. But there's always risk. For instance I don't have a generator or backup ups, and my power went out during the grow. Luckily it wasn't much over an hour, and everything was fine. As for reward, I...

2 plants, 6 and half potatoes RDWC

Hello all, I see a lot of people making a lot of mistakes and giving bad advice. Don't get me wrong there are some very knowledgeable people in these parts but there seems to be less and less of them. Any ways I thought I'd post my thoughts (take them or leave them). The number one problem...

    Do Hydroponics create more Waste?

Your whole premise is wrong. What is the use of the RO anyways? The starting water is bad? The nutrient solution goes bad and instead of dumping it down the drain you want to keep filtering it through the RO, and the waste water? Then it sounds like you want to filter it slightly and do water...

    Do Hydroponics create more Waste?

I don't think you understand how RO works, and what plants need as nutrients. You should research how RO works, and the contents of your local water supply. Then ask an educated question, because really what your asking doesn't make sense. Btw RO uses filters, electricity (to develop pressure)...

    Ward Laboratories Water Results

Im no expert but it doesn't seem bad to me. Better than my well. According to my chart Chloride isn't much of an issue until you have a lot. 250 ppm may cause a salty taste, and greater than 900 ppm is considered unsuitable for all agronomic crops. - Jiji
