nnnaaah, i just happen to know that alfalfa's like, $13/20lb (even less at aggie places i bet) and that 20lb will probably last me and my 50+ gallons per feeding at least a couple years.

depends how they're sourcing it though. alfalfa's dirt cheap; for the amount we're looking for for our plants, it's easily conceivable that they're doing a plant-based extraction/concentration rather than using the pure form (which is almost always more expensive than the raw materials involved...
