    Lighting

Get some ventilation in there, a lot of venting if you go 600w, and paint the inside with flat white paint or flat white primer. I use the outside edge of my garden for new plants into the room, so they can harden off to the light.

    Nanners here, nanners there!

Nanners in late flower is not uncommon, mostly it is genetics, also stress can play a part in nanners. I have a cut of something now from a friend that is showing nanners, his did not. The only thing I can think on mine is a light leak, not sure if temps play a part.

Need help with plant diagnosis...perpetual problem driving me nuts

You do have to harden off the plants gradually when going to a brighter light source. Curled under leaves sounds like over fertilized, normally too close to the light will give you "taco leaves" or ridges.

    Lighting

I think 2 400 watt hps would do nicely, if you can handle the heat. Bulbs are much cheaper for 400w compared to 430w bulbs. You might just want to try one light first.

I'd get a new one, the heat probably messed it up, or email fox farm and ask. I'd be interested in knowing.

    Harvest in stages question.

They look done from here, and they look NICE!!! I always chop the whole plant at once. Some buds are more done than others, some less mature. I like that it can give me different buzzes from tops to lowers. Plus if you are growing something for the first time it will help you know when to chop...

    Phosphorus deficiency?

It could shock the plant to cut off too much, at this point it won't really direct much more energy into the other buds if the bad ones are gone. Looks like a deficiency/lockout due to ph. Possible causes, water ph, nutes ph, too much nutes... What is your medium? What are your nutes? Does...

pH...A tutorial as applied to soil only

Confused about this bit... does this mean you just check the ph of the water after the soil settles to the bottom? I hope so, all I have is a ph tester for liquids. I add lime and don't have many problems, but I should test it more.:peace:

To trim the sugar leafs or not to?

Any leaf with a stem showing gets cut, then trim leaf tips sticking out of the bud back to where the resiny part is, works for me.

If it is over 25 feet long the wattage it can handle is down graded, try to keep them short as possible. Also use outdoor rated.

little black flies, look like fruit flies or gnats

I don't think I've ever seen an indoor soil grow that didn't have a few fungus gnats flying around. I got rid of 99% of mine by not over watering, also hung up fly tape, I also break up the surface of my soil every day with a fork. I break up the soil before and after watering. If the top is...
