Interesting thread... I'm wondering, are the Gavita or any of the other higher end HID lamps/ballasts rated by UL, CE, FCC, etc...? If security is an issue, then line noise, EMI, and RFI need to be taken into consideration. (for that matter, IR and UV also.)

The biggest thing with cabinet grows is heat, especially if you're trying to vent the heat of an HPS or MH. Example: Mid 90's A 250w MH with 160w of T12 side lighting in a 30" x 60" closet (with no way to vent the heat outdoors) warmed up the adjacent 10'x10' room to a toasty mid 80's in...

Top that tall one if you want it to slow vertical growth. Clone the cutting. With any luck it'll root in a week or so, and you'll have two of that same plant (hopefully female).
