Mold and mildew wont be a problem in there, I have a pretty powerful oscillating fan. Mold (hate European mould and colour) and mildew can't survive in a windy environment.

That site is talking more about the way people water their plants outside just spraying water over the plant and onto the ground, in a low wind environment and done during the night mold and mildew would have a chance to get foothold.

Foliar feeding should be done an hour before lights come on so the leaves aren't wet for more than a few hours. I'm under the opinion that feeding the media should be done a few hours before lights go out.

My lights come on at 7:30AM so it's kinda tough to be there at the right time to water in the morning. I've been doing it at more like middle of the day. Still, after watering the humidity jumps to 55% for the next two days... I suppose it doesn't really matter with regards to humidity if it's going to stay that way for so long.

I'll give it a shot. I can't remember where I read it so I may as well try what is working for you... I'm trying everything else after all.

Yea, watering raises RH and without a dehumidifier there's really nothing you can do about it. The water evaps off the media and the plant transpires water through it's leaves.

A dehumidifier would take the spot of an entire plant in my 4x4 and not worth the space in my opinion. It's not going to yield me a plants worth on the other plants. Reminds me, I need a good min/max thermometer with a RH gauge on it as well. I couldn't even tell you the humidity in there other than it feels more humid in the grow room.

Gonna go smoke and put the ladies to sleep, be back in a bit.

Romulan is a clone only strain. There are no seeds. You'll have to get seeds that are crossed with another strain. And if you find any Romulan seeds, it's probably fake or a clone that a breeder hermied or stressed to turn male. Like Federation Seeds crossed with White Rhino and backcrossed to Romulan.

Here's info on how federation seeds made romulan:

Romulan was created by a guy named Romulan Joe once known as Mendocino Joe who was one of the founders of the Trinity grow scene. Romulan is a mostly afghani hybrid not related to Sk#1. It is very popular with the marijuana medical scene because of it's potency for treating chronic pain. There are a few banks that carry the strain and it's hybrids. Federation had the original clone, and 97% pure seed form. Next Generation has many of Federation's strains including Romulan. Reeferman has Romulan and it's hybrids. Marc Emery used to have a Romulan x White Widow cross that was very popular. I have seen pics of this Rom/WW hybrid, and they are truly amazing with almost purple look, super thick buds, and with crystals all over the entire plant! Another hybrids that was popular was Romberry (Romulan x BlueBerry)with it's exotic taste and awesome purple colors! Subcool seeds has a C99 x Romulan cross called Space Queen.

In the old days whenever someone mentioned Romulan, the talk of California Blue Indicas comes up. I am not sure what Blue Indica means, but they get mentioned. I know Romulan is mostly of Afghan origin, but I would like to know what the other genetics of the plant are. Maybe there is a little Paki/Hindu Kush or Lebanese hashplant mixed in. General concensus says that it is not entirely Afghan, and that it has more sativa in it than a landrace Afghan or Hindu Kush. I am thinking that it is slightly under 15%-10% sativa. Since it has a lot of purple coloring, it may have a little Colombian Green, Red, or Black in it. There is talk of it maybe having a very little amount of mexican genetics in it as well, maybe Oaxacan. People tried to grow these late flowering equatorial sativas outdoors up north with little sucess until Afghan seeds arrived. That's my specualtion. It may have a little haze crossed in, but I think that Northern Lights has the claim on the multiple Afghan x (Afghan x Haze) cross.

Federation acquired a strain from Romulan Joe (A Vietnam Vet/East Bay Biker) from California and grew it on Vancouver island. It was given to them in clone form. I guess that Federation crossed it with White Rhino to get seeds. They backcrossed it 11 times backwards to the original clone. They favored backcrossed plants that were the largest & most robust while still finishing within 8 weeks flowering time. Federation's seeds are 97% like the orig clone. Now it has been inbred ever since, and it is good breeding material to cross other plants with.

The overall structure of the plant is short and stocky. They said it can get a very branchy compared to other afghan/indicas, and it isn't the best choice for SOG. The color of the buds and leaves are very dark green with a thick structure. Leaves are wide. The stems on the plant turn purple. I'd imagine that maybe other parts of plant will start to turn purp near the end of harvest time. The plant is pretty frosted in that some stems have crystals on them. The yields mentioned are 30g-60g per plant indoors, up to 250g outside. Since it is almost all indica and an IBL, it doesn't have hybrid vigor and the sativa stretch in flowering that other strains tend to have. I have seen growers get a little more yields out of the plant. Federation says Rom can foster mold near harvest time if you are in a humid environment.

Federation claims Romulan as it's strongest strain potency wise. It was nicknamed Romulan because "the high can put a dent in your head". Most people claim that the high is a little more clearer thinking than most indicas, but still strong enough to Kick Your Ass. The smells are pretty strong ranging from a pungent piney to an acrid fruity/pepper smell.

Kryptonite lineage fun: (Killer Queen x The Purps)

The Purps
[BC Bud Depot]

Sativa 60 / Indica 40
Origins - Mendo Purps clone x Purps
Flowering - 56-63 days
Harvest - Late October

This scrumptious purple plant comes out of Mendocino County, in northern California, where she began as a clone-only plant among the medical marijuana community. BC Bud Depot has developed a stable cross to make Purps seeds available. The Purps is good in indoor and outdoor environments, finishing well in a coastal British Columbia climate.

The Purps is a pungent girl with medium thick leaves and green hues that turn more purple as the plant ripens. Her moderate side branching makes her amendable to both pruning for a sea of green garden, and, alternatively, encouraging her to spread out as a multi-branch plant. BC Bud Depot prefers growing The Purps in soil with medium organic feedings, because it enhances the flavors in this mooth and complex strain - hints of buttery caramel coffee and woodsy floral pine.

Indoors, The Purps reaches an average 3-4 feet at harvest, while outdoors she can grow to 6 or 8 feet. Her hight can be controlled by shortening the vegetative phase, which may also influence her final crop. The Purps' indoor yields range from 1.5 to 2.5 ounces per plant, while outdoor plants will produce 4-5 ounces each. These plants require 8-9 weeks to finish, which places harvest in the last half of October. Although she is a hrady, pest-resistant strain, the Purps is more suited for gardeners with a few crops under their belts.

The buds are tasty looking and smelling, with deep purple coloring and a frosting of resin. The flavors are soothing and tantalizing, lingering pleasurably on the tongue. The Purps high soars into a longlasting purple haze of playful euphoria. It produces an active, awake feeling with a very low burnout factor. A nice antidote to depression, these rich flavored buds turn the blues to the Purps.

Strain:
Killer Queen
Breeder:
Dutchgrown Seeds
Location:
indoor, outdoor
Type:
mostly indica
Flowering:
~53 days
No feminized seeds.
Joint Project with Reservoir Seeds

The famous 1990's BCGA hybrid, improved and resurrected.

Reservoir's unforgettable pineapple Cinderella 99 Mom has been bred with G13bx males derived from the Pacific G13 clone. The result is Killer Queen, Redux. She smells like pineapple and finishes with a nice, fruity, nutty flavor, with pineapple being dominant and a rip-roaring, eye-crossing high.

Just bored man, plus the shit's interesting. I went out when the lights came on, no catastrophic failures, nothing to do. I smoked a bowl and stared at them for like 15 min, looked at the veg room and rotated the plants. Everything's watered and looking perky, so I just hop on the net and research some more.

I need like another 2 gardens to fill my time more, after these harvests I'm going to get another tent, thinking a 5x5 and run 4 perpetual harvests. Half of each room every 2 weeks.

Hey it's a great thing (the net) lots of useful stuff on it if you do get bored...I love the perpetual garden idea..but don't "blow your load" of your first harvest on supplies..but again love the idea.

Yea, will probably just pick up pieces here and there after harvests. I do need to pick up some nutes after these first ladies come down, I'm getting to the halfway point on some of these 32oz bottles.

Torn I have the medical card here in RI so I"m thinking all I have to do is tell the DR. and not the agency...if it's a perscribed drug (which in my case it is) then it shouldn't be an issue

Hm, haven't thought of that, here's hoping the doctor is cool and can omit information

Not to burst your bubble marine, but ive had some friends with cards, still be fired from dirty test. Medical cards are a new thing, and not accepted by most workplaces, if any, they need to adjust that policy, since its a booming thing, and damn near about to be on the ballot. But yea, some companies are old fashioned and a dirty test is a dirty test, regardless if u have your card, kinda sucks, but u can always use the fake urine pouch, that works for sure! its about 40$ or so at a local smoke shop! some come with handwarmers to keep it at normal body temperature!

Oh and update to that. Hung out with a buddy of mine who has used the fake urine pouch, just mentioned a friend of his got a fake urine pouch, but unfortunately, they used a cotton swab on the inside of his mouth for a culture test, so.. fake urine yes, but technology is leading to using cotton swab culture tests for drug use. Just a heads up mang!

I'm watering by hand at the moment, there isn't enough plants in there to make it a hassle. I've thought of running a res and some drippers to each of the plants, but it wouldn't work out with the perpetual cycle. Here in a week the older plants are transitioning to a new flower nute (1/2 Bloom 1/2 Ripe) and the younger ones are going to be on just the Bloom. I'd have to run 2 res' for the room to do that.

Watered today (per gallon):

10ml Bloom
2ml Hydroplex
1tbs Molasses

This is the midweek watering for the larger plants and it took 2.5 gallons to get a good amount of runoff on all. This Friday I'm going to transition to the Ripe nute (4 weeks), and continue it till the end of 7 weeks, then flush for a week before chopping.

Everything's coming along nicely out there. I took the time to hack out all of the spindly, lime colored, and clearly not going to amount to shit, stuff from the bottom of the plants. The stuff I removed was well under the canopy and looking quite lame, I guess you could say I "lollypopped" the plants.
