height means nothing without lots of budsites. i dont know whose plants you are referring to but that sounds like a lanky plant, with lots of trunk .as a reference, you can easily get over a pound in a puny 20 gallon.
i think you're idea of what is possible is limited. some people are using 800-1000 gallon pots. and some go with 12' x 12' mounds. eventually they will measure in at 12'-15' high but are wider than they are tall!! those will be 10+ pounds.
if spaced properly with plenty of sun a 200 is supposed to yield 5# easy regardless of strain. but yes soil and gardening skill play a big role in yields.

smart pots are super durable. i pressure wash mine.
