Aero has more DO,
therefore it can tolerate higher solution temps up to a point.
Yield will increase with increased DO in the roots.
Keeping the temp near 66-68 is important in DWC.
DWC is still a very good way to grow if you can control the solution temp.
I grew my first aero grow with 80º solution temps,
and had fair to good success,
but my yield and speed took off,
when I added the chiller,
and got the temp down and the DO up.
I only grow DWC in the winter
when I can control the rez temps
by keeping the room at 66º.
It is harder to adapt a chiller to a DWC,
than it is for Aero.
DWC is much cheaper, simple,
and highly recommended ,
