Although he did not get off any shots, officers fired 16 shots, killing Johnson, and wounding nine bystanders.Witnesses told ABC News that police shouted to Johnson to stop before the shooting began.
Despite initial reports on social media of a mass shooting spree, all nine bystanders were hit by police gunfire.
How many people died?

Those officers are fucking idiots and don't know how to use a firearm....I would say most citizens who lawfully have the balls to carry know how to act responsible and use a firearm, they aren't thugs such as policeman.

keep aruging a hypothetical you dipshit troll, it could go any way, some people are morons, some aren't.... firearm safety is not complicated. You obviously never fired a weapon in your life.

I have reported you for quadruple post spamming

So, your preferred scenario is to let the crazy guy with the AR15, a shotgun, and a pistol shoot until he runs out of ammo and targets, i.e. the actual scenario that played out? Excellent progressive position!
did i list a "preferred scenario"? or did i simply reiterate and clarify what the OP was pointing out for retards like you who think we are coming for your guns?

you know i havent thought to much about it but id be down for some sort of private small security for these kinds of open access public events . . . .what do you think

with more people you get more problems . . .maybe increases security with reason is a good thing ......?
With private security you generally get people who are not very skilled with firearms, just like the cops in NYC. I prefer armed citizens.

WHile i totally agree with you
I think you should concede that
a bunch of CCW carrying civilians in a dark theater shooting guns off is going to make things worse

You will note that nowhere in my post did I claim that you are coming for my guns. You guys are making the case that an armed citizen in the theater would have made the situation worse, which is frankly hard to imagine. Some of us are calling bullshit.

No
someone here on RIU
claimed in a thread when the shooting happened
That if people had ccws
the shooter would of been stopped and tragedy averted
and chances are pretty good
It would of been worse

i believe the scenario chesus is positing is a dozen armed citizens in a dark, confusing theater, and contrasting it with "professionals" in a less confusing situation shooting citizens left and right.

it's called reading comprehension, skinhead.

to be honest its ahrd to tell . . . ..the right armed citizen yes woudl probably be a good thing . . but the wrong armed citizen would be a horrible thing . . and if either of those numbers multiplies . . . . it could get very fucked up quick, like i siad mis identification in a crowded theater with multiple people shooting could be a very bad thing, and ithink definetly worse, one smart guy good, but more than likely if guns were legal in theaters you woudl have ten dumb fucks and one smart guy

and im not the kind of guy to play chance with peoples lives . . .thats why a security measure may not be a bad thing . . .

id rather bank on one perosn paid then 10 trigger happy people who saw rambo to many times

The point I do not concede is that "a bunch of CCW holders" would behave in that manner. Cops might, but private citizens would not. I think the situation would have been greatly improved if an armed citizen had returned fire.

We will never know, will we? Despite your best attempts to convince me that your psychic powers are better than mine I remain convinced that mine are superior.

arguing a hypothetical on an internet forum is like talking to yourself, everyone has their opinion and wants to voice it, yet nobody gives a fuck what you have to say and you will never sway anyone. I nominate this thread as one of the most useless threads ever made on the RIU. Nobody will ever read this, retain any information, gain any knowledge or insight, or read through this thread unless forced to read it as a cruel form of torture.

Your fucking kidding ...right?
A Texas man injured two people and himself after he accidentally fired his handgun Monday night while standing on line at a Walmart store, police said.
MyFoxDFW.com reported that the suspect, who was not identified, accidentally fired his gun while he reached into his wallet at the Dallas-area store. The bullet hit the man in the buttock and shattered on the ground. Fragments hit a child in the leg and a woman in the foot, the report said.

your hole(lol) premise to this thought, is that there will be A, or a one or singular john Wayne type, in reality if you give a mouse a cookie he will ask for a glass of milk . . .and what i mean by that is let one guy bring is weapon in and there will be others(more than likely not the john Wayne type), its fear and paranoia, half the reason most people CCW to begin with, the other half have hero complex/or just prefer to be prepared for anything(crazy world)

Pat Tillman was killed by friendly fire..he was in an elite unit that none of you so called sharp shooters could qualify for...and it takes no balls to carry gun..none whatsoever ..that is silly to suggest.
