Attorney: Caregiver shot by police after toy truck mistaken for gun

The cop doesn't even know why he shot him.

Unarmed Black Man Lying In The Street With Hands Up Gets Shot By Police In North Miami
“I’m saying to them, ‘Sir, why did you shoot me?’ And his words to me, he said, ‘I don’t know.’”

That's a great lawsuit. All he has to do is not die.

Is starting to look like Americans don't want police to have unlimited power.

It's not the police who HOLD the power though. They are paid low I.Q. mercenaries to a large degree.

The unlimited power itself will only diminish when people stop believing in the superstition that a government which forcibly rules people, is needed to protect people from someone who will forcibly rule them. Until that happens, nothing really changes.

What good will it do if the guy wins a lawsuit, which then means people are taxed even higher to pay for the
actions of their alleged "protectors" ?

I can't make your choices for you, which is my answer, but also on a larger scale, the universal recognition of that, is also THE answer.

Peace.
The only thing we can do is revolt. We can't vote them out we must chase them out it is the only way change will happen.

Or do you have a better idea?

Yes.

Violent revolt which replaces the present douche with "our" douche (as if people could ever even all like the same replacement douche) doesn't address the root causes and is sort of a rinse lather repeat thing.

For a lasting paradigm shift, fundamental causes can't be ignored. Of course the fundamental causes must first be known and admitted. Thus lasting change will require the recognition and advancement of ideas on a scale larger than what exists now. I'm working on that.

I don't mean a revolution to put in a douche like Castro. A truly free nation will have no rulers just we the people if a crime happens in our neighborhood we don't need police just the people.

We should at least be able to select who we want to use to maintain the peace on an individual basis or on a collective basis of people all of whom are in agreement. The idea that you are forced to pay for security to protect you from people would force you....is a bad idea.

Right now, maintaining peace has taken a back seat to maintaining "law and order" which can mean drastically different things if the laws
themselves are based in enforcement of "victimless crimes".

If it forces people to pay it, so that it can then claim to protect you from people who would force you to pay them....the idea is based in a lie.
It seems to me that it is more the result of a choice made by people in the "free market" of ideas.

A truly free market is one which champions voluntary human interactions on both a personal and economic basis, therefore a government which arises from and maintains itself via a monopoly on the use of force and redistributes peoples property on an involuntary basis could not come from "free market ideas" .

Those kinds of ideas by virtue of their capture of people on an involuntary basis spring from an "unfree market" mindset.

I think your idea of what government does might be somewhat incomplete.
It would work.

I stayed up watching a John Wayne marathon.

What I noticed is after the towns people got tired of it and banded together the out a stop to it.

Rio Lobo was a good one.

The good sheriff even shot a bad shireff and everyone was like OK.

a truly free market is a pipe dream.

Sorry, it was a fun idea in high school.
