Big Bang First grow

Look at my little Big Bang seedling - curled leaves - slightly black where the leaves come out of the stem.
Has anyone seen this sort of thing before?
I did spray the leaves with water a couple of times which left a few drops of water on the leaves - my missus reckons this could have burned the leaves since i moved the plant closer to the bulbs after doing it - i hope its not nute burn from the allmix?
i have only watered when the soil when my meter tells me its dry at the bottom so i dont think its been over watered.
what do you reckon?

regarding the widow - yeah me too mate - best weed i smoked in this country was some ww a mate grew in soil under a hps so fingers crossed ill get close to his efforts. know what you mean about the vents mate - had some filter material over the one vent but nothing over the ex.fan so i plan to clean and spray the place fully before any girls are put in there.

Looks like nute burn to me,
Also, have you been adjusting the PH levels of the water?
You should be able to tell when your plant needs watering by lifting up the pot..
When you go to water it.. feel the weight of the dry pot, then water, then feel the pot again....when the pot feels light, you will know when to water..
but you must make sure the water is at the right PH level, what kind of water are you using?

Good idea man, you can never be too careful when it comes down to MJ...
always disinfect your grow room before and after a grow..

Last time i smoked some white widow was a good few years ago now...i do miss them days....

water is de-ionised water at 7.0 ph - do you think this too high - i know on GHS website franco harps on about 5.5 ph and 1.6 ec but i assumed that was hydro? therefore should be ok at 7ph for soil. if nute burn must be the thing i was worried about most - seedling in allmix, tho i have dilluted with 25 perlite but perhaps it isnt enuff - any thoughts on what to do to resolve my problem?

Yea man, your PH is too high man...
I do just as Franco says, PH at 5.5... han't done no harm to mine..

EC readers are expensive man....thats why i don't own one...not yet anyway..

I don't know if its because its a young
un', as i've heard of people using this soil from word go too, but maybe you should try the light mix version..the feeding is all up to you then..

I would adjust your water to probably around 5.8 and then flush it and hope for the best...
Anyone got any other ideas?
You will know when its getting better as the new growth will be green... (or it will be dead)
I know it aint funny man, but you gotta have a sense of humour to get through these tings..

I think once you have burnt a leaf, there is no going back for that one....just the new growth..but i may be wrong, so don't hold me to that..

how do i lower the ph - haven't got any ph down so what do you use joe?
Vinegar man, go very carefull though cause 1 drop in 500ml of water will lower it alot man, so its best to take alot of readings, 1 drop at a time..
Funny enough i've just finished filtering and adjusting my water a second ago..
So yea vinegar...
If you want to bring it back up, tap water...or baking soda but that leaves a powdery residue...

cheers joe - got mine down using some citric acid, read some threads and people reckon its ok to use so got me some from holland & barret, tiny bit lowered 2l of 7.2ph tap water to 5.5ph - ace, so i flushed the pot and will see what happens.
Fingers crossed.
my 5 x ww should arrive tomorrow so will need a re-think regarding soil - don't really want to fork out on light mix - do you think i could use the allmix and just dilute it even more with perlite and perhaps some top soil?

Hhhmmm, citric acid from holland & barret you say... me tinks i'm gunna have to get some...because.......
I HATE VINEGAR!!!!!
but seriously, i really dont like it when i get it on me... and i'm a clumsy mofo to say the least, it stinks and we just clash in personalities....... :joint::mrgreen:

Sorry man but I can't really answer your question about diluting soil as i've never tried it before, if you want my opinion though, and i know you don't want to fork out, but i would buy some light mix, you will thank yourself for it when your WW get going and its done a great job so far with my BB...

They most probably have it already..
If you take cuttings from one of your white widow plants, when you re-pot, you could probably use the all mix for that.. :eyesmoke:
How's the seedling, is it pulling through?

eager apprentice, ive been reading about your few probs ! like ive always said you dont need to listen to me !
but that said it cant hurt to read n make ya own decision !
ph problem ?? a few peeps have said to me that i need a ph metre etc but to be frank i grow in soil n dont believe i need one ! as long as you dont over feed(nutes) i cant see you havin a prob !
use good soil ie bio bizz all mix or my favourite canna professional soil ! if you use these you wont need any grow nutes if you flower them at say 30cm !if in doubt feed once with half strength(after 3/4 weeks) ! its always better to under everything(water, food) than over do, if you gets my drift ?
i got some pics up of my ghs bbang up!also ive started my 1st journal !(white kc n northern lights) with pics, have a mooch !
my veg cabinet is an old set of drawers with a 250 mh in at mo ! just an old pc fan at top as exhaust(miniature squirrel fan) my temps are just right about 26 lights on ! i thought a 250 would be way too much but guess not ! ill put some pics up of that too so you can have a looksie !

here she is today - day 11.

what do you reckon? i really hope she is pulling through - there is plenty of new growth which must be good right? also out of the second set of leaves there is one that looks fine while the other stunted?
i was hoping others may have seen this with allmix but not had any comments saying so.
on a brighter note my 5 x ww have arrived - sweet.
with the allmix worry though i got some john innes seedling & cutting compost from locasl shop and will prob try and germ 2 seeds and start em off in that.
what do you think (joe) i know you said about the light mix and i tried the hydro grow shop local but they basically only sell complete hydro kits straight from warehouse - some pretty good deals mind plus free delivery in uk - almost tempted to fuck off me grow room and get a pucker tent and shove it in the bedroom - and replace the missus wardrobe with it!! :weed:

looking alot better man.:joint:.
the pics are a little blurry though but from what i can see there is new growth and it is looking green..
nice job man, keep an eye on it and....f**k..., i forgot what i was going to say....
sorry man, the missus just came in and we were talking bout sumit and now i canyt remeber what i was going to say!!!!:? i'm mentally baked aswell...

I don't see any harm starting them off in that soil, but i'm no expert on store soils though..... if that makes sense..
what PH is the 'innes' soil?..
are you going to repot into the allmix?

Yea man, if you got the spare cash then get a grow tent man, but replacing a womans wardrobe is a dangerous thing to do.... tread carefully my man,
:eyesmoke:

hi bodyshop54, cheers for popping back stinkyg - your advice (and anyone elses) is most welcome, only way to learn is listening to those who have done it themselves. Yep joe i reckon leaving the missus wardrobe alone is probably the safest bet - stick to my grow room for now!
any of you guys come across this type of thing in your seedlings - especially using allmix?
i have transplanted the plant into a bigger pot with JAB John Innes Seed Compost arond the sides and at the bottom - the innes is 7ph and i read a thread from a bloke who had the same - nute burn on young seedling and transplanted into this stuff and the plant healed well.
Although im dying to germ my ww i am now unsure of what to start them in? allmix & more perlite than last time? innes seed compost? a mix of the two? HELP????

i papertowl germ as soon as they crack move to rockwool starters then either it is bumped to a 4" wool or it goes into foxfarm and heavy pearlite i like heavy pearllite because it is easy to flush, hard to drown only drawback is it can dryout quickly
but compared to what im putting in a 70 gallon res every week or 2 fxfrm nutes and soil is cheap. I like growing mothers in foxfarm or sunshine mix in 5gallon buckets i also cut the mix with a little hydroton if i have any around.

you reckon buy some rockwool then? will look into it - might be able to get it without a big carriage charge (therefore worth buying).

Deck the halls with bells of......BIG BANG!!!!! I think she's pulling through

transplanted last night and woke this morning to find the leaves that were droopy standing up all healthy like!! and get home from work and the new leaf growth has definately come through.
only trouble is after buying this john innes seed compost i have read alot of negative stuff about it setting like concrete and plants not liking it, this has left me with a dilema regarding my new white widow seeds - start them off in seed compost alone or mixed with perlite or a mix using allmix, seed compost and perlite????? please someone give us a clue? I know its all about trial and error but i cant keep forking out on seeds just to fuck it up again.
was thinking about getting some rockwool starter plugs - if i can find them 2mo locally if not its got to be after xmas - boo hoo.

 you don't wanna be singing that when you go carol singing!

Good to hear man, :joint:

If I were you i would just wait until you get some soil you know is good, don't waste your WW man, have a look around on here and ask about in a thread or two and hopefully someone should give you some good advice about diluting your allmix......but be patient, it may take a few days to get a decent opinion you can go by..
