 not too many people interested in my BB and Widows???? Does my thread only make people:sleep: if i dont get any good advice how will i ever :leaf::bigjoint:

Come on peeps - give me your thoughts, advice, general opinions etc.

Anyway the pics - taken in the middle of the lights on period - BB not droopy at this time.

A Few Questions i have - any advice would be appreciated:

i really want to know whether or not too remove some of the burnt leaves at the bottom of the big bang plant (the ones that got burnt by the allmix early on).

what sort of strength Biobizz grow to give my plant (big bang) and be safe - i have given the big bang 2 feeds of half strength nutes inbetween water feeds and i am wondering when to take it to a stronger dose - bearing in mind i will be transplanting to the final pot in the next couple of weeks and that pot will contain just allmix.

has anyone vegged the widow for just 4 weeks then flowered or should i leave them for longer? the Big bang will be 2 1/2 weeks ahead of the widows so i will flower them all as soon as the widows are ready.

The Big bang looks like it should be a goodun' keep doin what your doin man.. :joint:
They all look very healthy man, nice job so far.. :weed:

I would leave the leaves.. ... eventually the lower leaves will droop and die and you should be able to pull them off with ease..

Not too sure about the nute dosage you should use cause i'm using a schedule and its to use with the light mix but for week 2 and 3 of Veg the dosage used was 2ml/1litre...
the all mix is already fertilized so i don't think you wanna be giving dem nutes straight away when you transplant for the first 3 or so weeks, or you might be able to but a very light dose...someone else should know for sure round here..

thanks joe - good job for me that your still interested in my thread mate otherwise id be fooked!!

cheers for all your input and advice i really appreciate it mate.

snowed in and unable to work has meant i have been able to sort out the grow room temps and got everything sorted apart from the humidity which is at 20%!!! way too low. have read something about putting some pebble or gravel in a tray and filling the tray with water up to halfway up the pebbles/gravel and then putting the plant pots on top of this - anyone heard of this or tried it??

nah mate the mighty - VILLA!!!! bit of a clue to where i live in the country, although my workmate is west ham and they are playing up here in a couple of weeks. We usually go up when they do - he has to sit in the holte end with all the villa fans!! didn't go to the one last season so the last time we went (2 years ago) it was one nil to the villa and we give him loads of grief all the way home. Needless to say when west ham beat us this season a upton park he re-paid the piss taking!

Oh noooo!
Aha.. speaking of footy, my aunt always go's to the west ham games, she's gotta season ticket, bit bloody expensive for my sake though.. and she always rings me grandad when she's walking from the ground, when she rang him last game, she kept coffing and saying oooh.. i can smell 'wacky baccy' haha..
bit of a long winded story for such a s**t punchline.. i suppose it were one of those 'you had to be there moments' :eyesmoke:

The missus's's's's.... they just don't understand why we love the weed so much damn it!..

yeah mate they just don't get it - been talking to my missus about the need for a carbon filter and therefore we will need a stronger fan to pull through it, now she didn't need to be convinced because security is the most important thing FULL STOP but she just wants me to find one as cheap as poss and buy it whereas i will spend a couple of hours looking, researching etc. cos i enjoy it as its all part of the hobby right?

Anyway,

I get on ebay and find a fan, filter & ducting package (100mm dia. rated at 187cfm or 145cfm for £53.00). The fan is a TT Fan.

anyone used this type of fan before?

and joe what type of fan and filter do you use and does it work well? Sorry if this info is on your thread i will have a look for myself.

Looking good man, :joint:
The WW's really coming along nicely...
BB looking nice and healthy, a little bit droopy though, how often do you water/feed?
I wrote out my post, den the PC crashed on me before i could get a chance to post, damn it! i'm mashed aswell so i can't even write on the damn keyboard properly! gotta keep going back and changing it, every time i look up i've wrote loads of gibberish!
so i'll try and remeber what i wrote cause it was about an hour 1/2 ago..

The fan sounds like the same one i have,:bigjoint: its not gone wrong yet and its the second grow..
its a right little worker!..
I'll post a pic of the fan box and the filter box, although the label is ripped on the filter box but you get the idea.. :eyesmoke:
The filter is good man, but i'm in need of a helping hand for odour control so it looks like i'm gunna get another ex.fan and filter for the grow room, the BB stink..and i mean really stink..:leaf:
I'm pissed man cause i wrote alot more than that and now my mind is completely blank!..

hes she does look a bit droopy - its been taken 2 hrs after having a watering with 1/2 strength biobizz grow. She will probably perk up a bit later on. It seems like she droops after watering and just before the end of the lights out period - after about 15/16 hrs of light she droops a bit.
in terms of how much i water its usually:

water (about 300ml) - 3 days nothing - water / half strength biobizz grow (300ml) - 3 days nothing - water (300ml).......and so on like that.

does this sound ok?
I have seen roots out the bottom of my pot so i know she needs a bigger pot - the final size its just i need to buy some 15L ones when i can get to the garden centre next before i can transplant her. Perhaps this is why she is drooping more than usual. Also i need to get her under the 600w HPS cos i know she needs more light than she is getting in the cabinet.

Also do you think your filter / fan doesn't get rid of all the smell then - can you still smell weed out of the exhaust?

The watering would explain the droopyness..its normal.. :bigjoint:
Sounds like you got everything under control man..
I would transfer that BB to your full size pot now man..
(I dont mean do it right now...well.. you know what i mean....)
..and get it under your 600W, it will love it.. lets hope its a girl! :weed:
Its good but the BB seems to overpower her, it worked a treat the first grow but after a while they have to be replaced/cleaned...but i don't have the tent locked up all the time, i have one vent open through the day to allow for fresh air to get in which comes in through the window... just gotta get something to sort the air out inside the room aswell and i'll be sorted...

Lookin good EA,

I'll be followin this thread (if thats cool?) Im currently growing BB in my tent too..

I'v just taken a few cuttings off her - my 1st attempt at cloning (looking good so far)

I started mine on the 14th December - so she's not even a month old yet... LOL

I'v posted a few pics (I hope u don't mind?) so I don't get flamed for cloning "too early" - She was more than ready!
My clones are in a PC case - they are 5 days old now and still looking very green so I "think" Iv succeeded (we'll see)

Thanks
REJ :bigjoint:

FOOKIN ACE - Thanks alot guys, finally a few more people joining in my thread - up until now its only really been grow4joe (check out his thread archaeo & redeyejedi for a top notch Big Bang journal, has really helped me out alot) with the odd post from stinkyg (hows it going fella? and Night Claptoman used to pop by in the early days, what you up to mate?

Redeyejedi.
of course i dont mind you posting pics on my thread and thanks alot for the great advice / pics for cloning - i have my Big Bang in a cab at the mo and its really out growing it so i will need to switch it to the grow room in the next couple of days, that means my cab will be empty - EMPTY??? not anymore thanks to your advice, will take some clones in a bit.
Did you use some clone gel / powder? Any chance of a brief run down of how you took them step by step like? Sorry if thats being a bit cheeky!! I got some root it cloning gel and some seedling compost.
Oh and i know your in a tent but what light, extraction, medium and nutes etc. are you using mate?

Grow4joe.
I know mate she (lets hope she's a she anyway - i call it a female in the hope that it will respond in the girly way!) definately needs that 600w and the finishing pot, only trouble is the biggest pot i got here is 5 litre, do you think this would be big enough? If not I will need to buy some from the garden centre and cant get there until later in the week.
Also about your smell mate have you seen the ONA Buckets in the DIY thread?

archaeo.
what setup you got mate - glad your off to a good start, good luck to you.

Light in the tent is a 400w HPS - Medium is just standard miracle grow soil (Just to use up what I had left) I used a couple of smashed up plates as drainage at the bottom of my 10Ltr bucket (sounds funny, but it works!)
Nutes - a really light tomato food for veg due to the soil Im currently using but I use Ionic bloom and boost for flowering.

As for the cloning - Peice of cake, I used clonex gel and root riot cubes - party cups with some soil my father inlaw gave me and as you can see a couple of coke bottles for humidity domes.. lol
PC case has a duel spec envirolite 125w - my clones are lookin better and better all the time - I don't wanna raise my hopes to high but for my 1st attemp - I think Iv done OK..

as for my leading lady, she loves LST - I would recommend it for sure! She's growing at a rapid rate and is alot bigger than in the pic from yesterday (I'll get another couple of pics posted up tomorrow, but Im gonna veg her for another 10 days I think and then flower her off - Im sure I'll get 2 1/2 - 3 Oz dry off her with that !

(glad I could help by the way) :bigjoint:

Nice one redeye, just been through your short rider journal - not happy with the quality then mate? really interesting cos the shorter strains are something i was thinking of trying if it ever got a bit on top to use my grow room and the mighty 600w HPS! as you can see from the size of my cabinet to do a plant from start to finish it would need to be a dwarf strain. The cabinet was only ever meant to be a clone / early veg cab but i need somewhere to keep a mum (fook paying for seeds every grow mate!) so i may build another box onto the bottom of it to house pots / bubbler perhaps and cut holes into the current bottom of the cabinet, i would also add another couple of light fixtures - when i built this one i was hoping to find those y-splitter sockets for bayonet bulbs so the 2 spiral bulbs were meant to be 4 spiral bulbs but i cant find them anywhere, online / B&Q / local electrical suppliers everywhere - anyone know where i can get them?
Although the 63w has seemed to work well so far to start things off and i wonder if i tied down a plant and LST'd it i could keep it as a mother and low profile to fit the cabin et as is - your looks pretty short tierd down.

I won't tell u to stay away from the shorter strains - just be wise before you buy... research the strain of interest... When I started Short Rider there was no info to be found anywhere - Nirvana had just brought it out and I thought Id give it a whirl... for my 1st grow it turned out great but the quality did let it down...

Although, almost all indica strains stay short and compact anyway... I would go with an indica over an auto strain now for sure!

Anyway, a few more pics of my BB and her clones too (clones are exactly a week old now!) :bigjoint:

(Oh, and your cab is a perfect size for the bonsai mum that I showed u)

Nice one redeye - cheers for the homebase info, some nice and cheap cfl's in there but the thing i have been looking for is an adaptor socket that you put into a bayonet type light socket and it has two more bayonet type light sockets coming off it in like a Y-shape, so from one fitting you can attach two cfl's - you get me?

thanks for the info on the bonsai mums - i have come across this thread before somewhere and have it downloaded now so cheers matey. Your plant looks so much bigger than mine so its obvious i need to get her un der m y HPS NOW!!! as grow4joe has been telling me for weeks! Hows tricks joe? just off to check your thread m,ate.

cheers peeps.

will upload some pic later - i plan to take a clone tonight from one of my big bangs lower branches that doesn't seem to get alot of light anyway.

wish me luck!!!
