i heard from dudes selling the cryo cure thing is it can change the high a bit like indicas dont smoke the same vs a slow cure almost supposed to make it smoke more like a sativa if you cryo cure it of course it could just be bullshit just thought id mention it im curious if anyone who used it noticed any difference or not in the effects when smoked?

I can well imagine the effects would be different, I bet the numbers would agree too, if there was a flash freeze dried sample vs long cured both from the same plant tested I reckon there’ll be

1) more of the good stuff
2) different stuff

Either one could presumably change or enhance one’s experience imo

My only experience with freeze dried weed was from a friend im sure he got this stuff off a crazy old Dutch grower anyway im talking what 15 years ago at least and it was armageddon it was good shit but it was a hybrid it was good but the frozen stuff vs the normal cured stuff the freeze cured wasnt as good wasnt bad but yeah not the same thing as a professional bit of kit doing the job im sure but its my only reference point so far

Jesus, With a price tag of $50k for a "home" unit, damn thing better give me a rub n' tug when I hit the start button. I really wonder how many home units they will sell at that price. Can only imagine what they want for a "dispensary" unit, Holy Shit!!!!!!!!!
Even a Harvest Right Pharm model with oilless pump is only like $4k.
I've personally never smoked any freeze dried buds, it just seems a bit odd freeze drying flower. I can see where it would definitely make a difference with bubble hash, but flower???? I'm still on the fence there.
People balk at what I spent on my Cannatrol, until they smoke a joint, and their tune changes pretty quick.
What I've noticed is way better Terpene preservation, and a couple batches don't really shine until you break up a bud, smells way different before you break it up.
As far as the high being different, can't really tell, as a couple strains I've run this year will have most experienced smokers stopping at half a joint.
Once I can wrangle in a few things between work and home, I'll be running a batch of bubble thru the cannatrol to see how it comes out since it has done such a noise job on flower for me.

I think it probably wont matter so much for hash but idk for flower and the terps bit u mentioned for the most part makes sense as i find with normal curing provided humidity is ok lower and slower is the best way but thats obviously is not reaching the low temps these machines are now

I find that bud that’s been stored at 12c doesn’t really smell strong at all because the terps aren’t volatilising at rate they would if they were warmer. The cold temp is very much keeping everything together imo

I agree, I think after a freeze dryer the best way to dry hash is in a frost free refrigerator, cooler temps and more dehumidification than a cannatrol or my converted wine cooler

I read through your thread a few weeks on making one, and since I run a perpetual with many different strains and flowering times, I probably don't need one as large as the one you made. Any thoughts on this thermoelectric cooler for Making a cure cooler?

I wouldn’t go with that model. It’s pretty small and it’s a dual chamber unit so you would need two dehums, and two controllers one for up top and one for below. It would end up costing more than a larger model in the long run.

I doubt you’ll have a hard time filling the 24-28bottle fridges. If you did manage to have extra space you can just leave some jarred finished product in there for the temperature controlled environment.

That really hadn't crossed my mind, to fill the excess space with jars. I saw he was putting close a pound in his, I don't generally weigh mine, but it's definitely not close to that much at a time.

I'll keep looking, most of the 24 bottle and up I see have compressors, and if I remember correctly, they max out at like 31 bottles for thermoelectric.

That’s about the max you can get in there. I’d rather have a little extra space between my buds then not enough space.

I would look on the second hand market if possible. I just asked the sellers to provide the model number. Most of the time you can see the actual thermoelectric cooler inside the fridge or hanging off the back of the unit.

Sooooooo UPS damaged mine...was bummed out but then my lady texted and wants to get mexican so it could be worse lol

I hit them up and they sent me a shipping label for a return. They said once they receive the damaged one they will send the new one.
Aw man that’s a shame, how do you like it though? Build etc?

Dude, that absolutely blows!!!!! UPS & FedEx are horrible.
They had to of thrown that around to cause damage like that, what a shame.
I feel sorry that you'll have to wait another week, it truly sucks ass, but the wait will be worth it.
Don't feel too bad, my washer is broke, ordered parts Monday nite, paid for "priority overnight" so I could fix it last nite. Kept updating my tracking #, will be delivered by 4:30, at 4:35, will be delivered by end of day. 8:00, delivery "delayed" no update on new delivery time it's now "pending". FINALLY got a human on the phone, not that I could understand a damn word, but says "box is empty" we won't deliver it, call whoever you ordered it from. Told the guy to update my tracking to "undeliverable" so I can get another 1 shipped, 4 hours later, nada.
Called the supplier, "we have to wait for FedEx to update the status" I came unglued. Another 2 hours later, have to buy another 1, because FedEx confirmed it was an empty box, and wait 5 to 7 business days for the refund on my original order.
Needless to say, the wife ISN'T very happy right now, but I've done what I could. Amazon has the valve way cheaper, but can't get one until next Friday the earliest, that's why I bought it where I did, so I could fix it in the shortest amount of possible Time.
HOPEFULLY the new one arrives for you undamaged and ready to go!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate shipping companies this time of year, they are just horrible and don't care, and that's a HUGE problem for us as the receiving party.

It looks pretty slick. Honestly I don't see the cost...however i understand what your paying for. Since i got a damaged unit I did a little poking around and im curious what the wires went to. Makes me wodner if this is a retrofit build.

1 wire for the thermoelectric cooler and the other for the sensors is my guess.

It would be a shame if you accidentally forgot to send back that controller unit. I would be able to help you rehome it.
