Niron magnets can replace many of the rare earth magnets used today, they are cheaply made from Iron and Nitrogen. This is a big move for the American company Niron and I would expect other auto manufacturers to do the same. So much for China's lock on rare earth magnets and battery materials will follow with new battery chemistries.
