I admit that I'd like to see a cup. Not that I haven't seen *the* cup, as it generally sits down off of Front St. in Toronto in the Stanley Cup Hall of Fame, but damn. I was at the dome when the Jays won baseball. I've been in the Gardens numerous times. I've been at games at the ACC.
I was there in 93 when Gretzky stole the last hope in hell that could have been had. Literally.
I'm just having fun, but in reality, yeah, seeing the cup at home would be a nice thing before I die. Meet up with my step dad and say "they did it. They finally spent the money properly and bought a cup!".
I hear ya, I'm an oilers fan, but the funny thing is in was pissed off when they got mcdavid, I'd rather have him go to leafs or sabres. Reason is they squandered a few high draft picks (Hall), underperformed on a few (Nail, et all). There was a huge sense of entitlement and old school starting with Kevin Lowe. It was just too good to be true, what was it four first rounders in what five years,? they selected the mcdavid first round pick behind a curtain, imo Katz bought that selection from Bettman and the gang and I ain't good with shit like that.
Like the leafs team but imo they got carried away with Tavares and there having a tougher time keeping the talent level up further down the roster let alone cap issues with their youngsters. They got a bright future, just need to shore up, I thought they were a stronger overall team without Tavares, but if they hit playoffs Tavares may well prove to be clutch.
